Perfume Tree - Blue Stars,
By Mark Atlanta (Atlanta, Georgia USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Weirdsville (MP3 Download)
The Perfume Tree song here is listed incorrectly. The song in the movie "Weirdsville" and the song available for download here is actually "Blue Stars" off the CD "A Lifetime Away", NOT "Uneasy" as is listed in the track listing.

Music for Hooliganism!,
By S. Aydt "Yehoodi" (Dallas) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Weirdsville (Audio CD)
In the days before Rock & Roll became a mainstream eunuch, it was loud, crass noise for juvenile delinquincy- DIY music at its best. Weirdsville is one of several astounding Monsieur Records comps of obscure and untamed rock from the '50s and '60s. As with first wave punk, this music still surprises and bristles with vitality unlike so much that followed. Spin this and turn your amp up to 11. Smash some stuff. Get trashed. Smoke some tea and flip out. In short, this is a great lowbrow disc for your nights of mayhem.

Alright, people this is what you have been waiting for. Raunchy, wild, loud, ultra-reverb induced noise with bands from who knows where. And who cares really, cause most of these people are dead anyways! But what you'll find here are some really killer and totally obscure 50s and 60s tracks assembled by the fine people at monsieur records featuring songs about cavemen, bugs, weirdos, hot rods, and bettie page. I was at a Cramps show last nite (halloween 2004) and the pre-show music was some outrageous sounds blasting from the speakers above that sounded like this. I went to the local indie store in southern california the next day and spotted this gem. Buy this now, your other crappy cd's will appreciate it. Trust me...
