This review is from: Weiss: The London Manuscript, Vol 12 / Cardin (Audio CD)
Michel Cardin plays the baroque lute with Christiane Laflamme, baroque flute, in a world-premiere recording of concerts (duos) by Silvius Leopold Weiss (1686-1750) and Johann Sigismund Weiss (1690-1737). This is the 12th and final volume in the complete recording of Weiss's music preserved in the "London Manuscipt".
"This is unquestionably a cycle of major significance. Cardin is an outstanding exponent, playing with a fluency and clarity of articulation that allows the composer's contraputal intricacies to emerge in a natural, musical way. The sound is lovely, the wide range of the instrument's sonority ideally captured by SNE's engineer." (Brian Robins, Fanfare magazine)
