The mere fact that this product exists is really the most helpful. I had to clean paint from old cast iron radiators. All the scroll work etc. took days and hours with our previous strategy of scrapers and dentil picks. This tool is great. However it starts to leak air after about 2 hours of continuous use and only works intermittently. That was kind of frustrating. I'd have gone with a better made scaler if I'd have known that. You have to give the tool a break for a couple of hours, then its back to normal operation. Really handy, Love the pistol grip for the job that I had. And even with the problems I had, it saved me days of work and did a very nice job.

Quality product overall. Made stripping paint off a bunch of old heating grates that had grids that are about 2" square go quickly. And those things had several layers of old paint. Only complaint is that it would kind of start leaking air or something after a while, and wouldn't vibrate the needles effectively. It was very cold in my garage when I was doing this, so that may have had something to do with it. Also had a fair amount of condensation, so maybe a dehydrator would have helped. If the product was rested for a while and then re-oiled, it would work fine again.

Also, you'll need a fairly powerful compressor, as this thing uses a lot of air. Otherwise, you'll have to let the tank recharge after a couple minutes of use.

I was looking for a sandblaster when I read the reviews about this product. Like the previous reviewer, I had an old radiator to strip. I have stripped others with sandblasting, but had to build an enclosure to try and keep the surrounding area half way clean. Using the scaler, the job was faster and much cleaner. I was able to use a small Makita compressor, rather than a larger capacity unit. I did have to occassionally wait for the pressure to build, but this was a small price to pay for the convenience of using a more portable compressor. Unlike the previous reviewer, I had no trouble with the tool after hours of continuous use.

I'm not sure what my husband uses this for, but he has looked all over for this, and was excited to see it on amazon. He has used it and hasn't complained so it must be alright.

When I originally purchased this item and after only having this tool for approximately 2 months and several needles fell completely out during normal use and the tool no longer was functioning like it should. I was sent a replacement by the seller which I believe was a refurbished item. Nevertheless, once again and approximately 2 months later the same thing happened today with the needles falling out. This happening makes this item completely useless and is absolutely ridiculous that this item only last a couple of months when using it on light jobs. Extremely dissatisfied with quality of this item.
