it has been hard for me to find pickled ginger in any local stores, so I was so very happy to be able to get it here.. and this brand is absolutely wonderful. :)

This ginger is disgusting. Since pickled ginger has almost no calories no matter how you make it, the nasty taste of Aspartame is unnecessary and highly undesirable. I recommend The Ginger People Organic Pickled Ginger. The Ginger People Organic Pickled Sushi Ginger, 6.70-Ounce Glass Bottle

This is the best brand of pickled ginger we have ever tried, so now it's the only one we buy. Besides eating with sushi, I enjoy snacking on it as it comes from the jar. It looks and tastes just like the kind available in fine sushi restaurants -- perfect even thin slices with just the right flavor.

I like that it has Aspartame (Equal) as a sweeter because of the need to watch my glucose levels. Unfortunately, so many people have been taken in by controversies spread through elaborate health scares and Internet smear campaigns involving hoax e-mails. Fortunately, Aspartame is approved in over ninety countries throughout the world, so I am not worried that nay-sayers will cause it to go away. Our entire family has been using it since it was first marketed. Equal and Splenda are the only sweeteners we trust.

On the other hand, high fructose corn syrup, which has been proven a problem for many people, is in almost all processed foods, even ones that don't require sweetening. So happy it didn't find its way into Wel-pac.

This has the same mildly spicy and refreshing bite as the sliced ginger that comes with high-quality, Japanese-restaurant sushi. I first ordered and had to trash a different and horrible style of Wel-Pac pickled ginger which was loaded with more sodium in a few bites than should be consumed in a day. I then tried this style, which is wonderful. I was glad to discover upon arrival that this slightly sweet ginger contains non-calorie Aspartame instead of the sugar included in other brands. But consumers should be informed of the artificial sweetener's presence. It could a deterrent for some. I have found this product on only rare occasion in local supermarkets. Given that fact, I'm glad it is listed on Amazon. But the site should contain the nutritional labels and contents for all foods.

This pickled ginger is exactly what you would find in any sushi place in America. It is sweet, spicy, and artificially colored pink. This is not your all-natural, dye-free, non-GMO, organic pickled ginger, but if you're looking for the stuff that they serve at your local sushi restaurant, this is it. We thoroughly enjoyed it with our homemade sushi, and I would definitely purchase it again.

I enjoy the taste of this pickled ginger, especially on plain white rice. I'm not bothered by the taste of Aspartame that others complain about; for me, it tastes just like what you get at sushi bars.

Ewwwww! It has aspartame! I used to buy a different kind from an Asian market, but was in a hurry and picked this up recently from my local supermarket. Yuck, terrible aftertaste.

I saw this in the store and was excited. It's very hard to find locally. When I picked up the jar to see the ingredients, I saw they used Aspertame instead of sugar. I don't use anything that has that poison. So, I put it back on the shelf and learned how to make my own. It's so simple and cheaper too

I have been craving pickled ginger for ages but live in the boonies where they don't know what sushi is much less pickled ginger. This is EXACTLY what they serve in the great sushi places. It's thinly sliced, spicy, sweet, and crunchy. I throw it in stir-fries, I eat it straight out of the jar. I'm so glad I took a chance and ordered this, it's wonderful. And I will be buying many many more jars of it. Highly recommended from a very picky eater!
