4.0 out of 5 stars God's light shines brightly in Brian Littrell!
Brian's solo album is a blessing and his passion for God shines so brightly on this album! He could have turned to non christian music but instead stayed close to his heavenly father!

Contemporary songs mixed with songs of praise for God and jesus make for one fantastic album! If you are christian I think you will love it and even if you are NOT a believer...

4.0 out of 5 stars Finally A Solo Debut!, May 30, 2006
This review is from: Welcome Home (Audio CD)
Brian Littrell, a member of the successful boyband Backstreet Boys, finally decides to release a solo album, just like fellow band member Nick Carter did a few years ago. On "Welcome Home" Brian proves what we already knew, that he's an exellent singer but also a good composer, Brian wrotes half of the songs. Most songs are confessional and deeply personal that deals with love, religion and past experiences. Being mostly a "Christian" Album it's obviusly diffrent from the pop/rock sound of Backstreet Boys but still it's a pretty good album. Brian's purpuse of this solo expriment was undoubltly to record something personal where he could perform something that he never would have been able to with the band, it won't become a hit and neither of the songs will get airplay on the commercial radio stations, but that is beyond the point. After over a decade with the Backstreet Boys he finally releases a personal solo effort where he tackles his religious belives and past experiences and makes a album of it all. For those that likes the Backstreet Boys, this could be something interesting to purchase but also for those that bought Nick Lachey's "What's Left of Me". Best songs here are "My Answer Is You" that sound a little like the neo sound of the band, the title track that is a catchy midtempo, "I'm Alive" that is contemporary rock and the jazzy "We Lift You Up" that gives his beautiful voice justice and a little help from backround choirs. Regardless of the fact that this aint a commerical pop album, it's a good purchase from a great vocalist that finally released his first solo album. 4/5 stars.

5.0 out of 5 stars Welcome Home - Brian Littrell Review, July 5, 2006
This review is from: Welcome Home (Audio CD)
this cd is really inspirational and makes you realize things about life that you would have never thought of..i have loved brian ever since the backstreet boys started..so obviously i would love the album..but it's an amazing cd other wise. i'd recommend it to anyone whose a fan of the backstreet boys or if you like slow meaningful songs. it's cute how he incorporated his son onto the cd.. and i love how some songs are accappella.. that shows that he can ACTUALLY sing..if you don't already own it.. then i hope you do go out and get it because it's worth it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Uplifitng!, August 24, 2007
This review is from: Welcome Home (Audio CD)
I was skeptical at first with this CD. Contemporary Christian isn't something I am interested in at all. But, I like BSB, Brian in particular, and gave it a shot. So glad I did. A couple of these songs wouldn't of sounded out of place on the last BSB album (Over You especially) and some are downright heart wrenching. I have listened to "Gone Without Goodbye" maybe 30 times since I have had this CD in the last couple of days, and it still chokes me up. It is without a doubt, THE most beautiful song ever. "Wish" is another good one. I am glad I checked this album out, and am looking forward to more.

If you're a Christian, or if you like Christian music, then this album is for you. It's absolutely amazing!!! Brian's talent is truly a blessing. Every word he sings is grace from God.

"I'm Alive" is my favorite song! The whole record is unbelievable. It's organized and beautiful!!

Brian did an awesome job on this record. I love the song "Welcome Home", which is my favorite off the cd. Brian has the most amazing voice and I think he is the most talented out of all the Backstreet Boys. I think everyone should buy this cd and just really listen to it because it's beautiful. I can't wait for his tour so I can go see him in concert. With all those beautiful songs-I know that the concert will rock. Brian Littrell is a brilliant guy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great freshman cd :-0, June 4, 2006

While this isn't normally the kind of music I listen to or like, I love the BSB's so thought I would check this out. It's actually very good although quite short, and it's a fantastic debut solo cd.
Gone Without Goodbye, Wish and Over My Head are my favourites but actually he has done a good job on all songs here. This is proof that any of these talented guys could make it on their own - I would just like to hear mainstream music coming from them - because this style of music does not appeal to people quite as much as pop or r&b. Great debut though.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great album, May 2, 2006
This review is from: Welcome Home (Audio CD)
Yes, it is a Christian album, but dont let that scare you if you are a non-christian backstreet fan; it is a very good album, all around. It can help you recover your faith at times when you feel lost, and it will be more enjoyable if you have the same beleifs as Brian. But, even if you dont, you will probably like some of the songs (for example, "Im Alive", great pop song). Rcommended because i find it very admirable that a high-profile pop singer has the courage to release an album about what he believes in. 5 Stars. Favorite tracks: Welcome Home, Gone Without Goodbye, I?m Alive. Thank you Brian, you have helped me restore my faith.
