Picture this; I am an average, 14-year-old Hispanic/Black American girl. You know the type; tall, cute, slim and think I am all that and some more. I live in an average size town in a 3- bedroom house, with my mom, my cat and my dog. I have what I need to be an average American girl. Things like; a phone, cell phone, computer and a bedroom, that is large enough to accommodate all of the junk I can collect. That's average right?

I knew from the moment I met that little one there was going to be trouble. I just knew she and I were not going to hit it off. I immediately named her "Tonya the Terrible." Furthermore, since she is younger than me, I must make it clear to her that I am the baby of this house. Nobody is going to come in here and take my status. I hope she doesn't think for one minute she is going to take my place.

So what, if I am 14 and my mom says, going on 21. I'm still my mom's baby and always will be. My mom adopted me when I was less than a year old. She and I have been together for 13 years. She says when I leave she will get her life back. She constantly reminds me I have 18 years and a wake up to move to move out of her house.

Frankly, before these two showed up that was a fine arrangement. But, now that they are going to be here with me, I think I need to reassess the situation. I hope my mom does not think for one minute I am going to leave my room, my furniture, my TV, my VCR, my DVD player and my personal space to that little Tonya the terrible and her sister fearless Phyllis. If she does, she'd better think again. What she better know is that I am going to demand some attention around here. And with that in mind, I decided I needed to take some immediate action.
