5.0 out of 5 stars A must read -- Hopsicker's the Michael Moore of print
An important and thoroughly entertaining read. As Hopsicker says, the mainstream media spend more time telling us about Ben and J-Lo than they do researching the team of 19 "lone gunmen" who killed 3,000 of our fellow citizens. 1.0 out of 5 stars laughable- what an imagination
I know the lady he calls Anna from Russia in Chapter 20- she definitely is not KGB, her father never won a Gold Medal in the Olympics, she is about 5"11 not 6'3"- though is everybit as gorgeous as the book states- in fact she worked as model and as "Barbie" at some toy stores in the Naples area at Christmas.
Her parents were very poor from the St Petersburg Russia...

5.0 out of 5 stars A must read -- Hopsicker's the Michael Moore of print, August 19, 2004
This review is from: Welcome to Terrorland: Mohamed Atta & the 9-11 Cover-up in Florida (Hardcover)
An important and thoroughly entertaining read. As Hopsicker says, the mainstream media spend more time telling us about Ben and J-Lo than they do researching the team of 19 "lone gunmen" who killed 3,000 of our fellow citizens. Like Michael Moore, Hopsicker also reminds us of things that float just below our consciousness. I remember reading that the Bush Administration ordered the FBI to shift focus from 9/11 to the anthrax investigation. What Hopsicker does is remind us that they never returned to that assignment. He has gone as far as he can in getting us answers, and he poses all the right questions we still need to pursue. In the great tradition of the Michael Moore renegade who searches out the truth for the rest of us, Hopsicker helps us understand that this attack remains one of the great unsolved crimes of all time. Let's hope this book becomes the success it deserves to be so that he and his Mad Cow Press can continue their work.

5.0 out of 5 stars A TRUE Investigative Reporter!!!, August 19, 2004
By
Uro Komos (California, USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Welcome to Terrorland: Mohamed Atta & the 9-11 Cover-up in Florida (Hardcover)
This book by Daniel Hopsicker, is a true work of investigative reporting. If only the 911 Commission, the FBI, and everyone else investigating 911 would have done the work that Hopsicker has done! He has many instances where what he found out through interviews with people who had encounters with the hijackers, that the 911 report had them not in Florida, but somewhere else! Since the 911 report only dealt with information from the FBI, this book is necessary to see what you are not being told about 911 in relation, especially to what the 'terrorists' were doing in Florida. The chapters on the flight schools is invaluable research, something that a reporter and/or especially an FBI agent should have done. This book is for those who want to begin to unravel the mysteries surrounding 911. This isn't conspiracy theory. This is factual information gained by solid investigative reporting - something that no major news outlet has done on 911 and certainly, few other authors. Highly recommended, insightful, full of questions that need to be answered but more than likely won't. Does the 911 report remind anyone who lived through the JFK assassination and the infamous Warren Commission. This book and Hopsicker's great website www.madcowprod.com have the juicy details and much, much more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Homerun for Hopsicker., October 10, 2005
This review is from: Welcome to Terrorland: Mohamed Atta & the 9-11 Cover-up in Florida (Hardcover)
This is the book frequently referenced in many fine works regarding the events of 9/11, most notably "The Big Wedding" by Sander Hicks.
That book and this one are the best one-two punch out there when it comes to exposing the truth of the 9/11 atrocity.

The best way to describe Hopsicker's style of journalism is:
"How are you gonna know if you don't get up and go?"

Rather than cut and paste mainstream articles that only hinted at the strangely conspicuous lifestyles and dubious government connections of the jihadists that were planning their massive "surprise" attack, Hopsicker decided to see for himself.

Hopsicker headed down to lovely Venice, Florida to get the scoop. What should rightfully be called "Terrorist HQ" was quickly abandoned by the mainstream press after they spent a couple of days there gathering the usual obligatory soundbites from the locals, including the flight school owner that trained some of the terrorists, Rudi Dekkers. Of course, soundbites can be hard to come by when FBI agents are swarming the town at the same time telling those same locals to keep their mouth shut about what they had seen and heard.
Now why would they want to do something like that?

As for Mr. Dekkers, he's a world-class crook and con-man with plenty of connections to drug-runners, international crime syndicates, and big-time political figures. You think those three things have nothing to do with each other? You need to do your homework. This book is a great place to start.

A strange coincidence that Mohamed Atta and his rogue gang of mass-murderers just happened to end up at the most crooked flight school in the whole country. Or was it coincidence? Shady things were going down in that one-horse town.
Atta and his crew were living it up down there, doing more cocaine than Scarface and downing more booze than an eighties rock band. Don't misunderstand - these guys were radical Islamist terrorists, just not "your father's" radical Islamist terrorists.
They partied hard at strip clubs and Atta even kept one of the strippers for a girlfriend - but not an Arab princess, she was actually your run of the mill caucasian infidel. She's interviewed in the book with some startling insights into the life and mind of the 21st century's most famous killer.

From mysterious rendezvous with wealthy Saudi financiers to frequent visits from his German buddies Wolfgang and Juergen, the life of Atta is not what your government told you it was and the circumstances surrounding the training for the kamikaze missions his team would eventually embark on have been covered-up for obvious reasons...

The U.S. Government had a whole bunch to do the 9/11 attacks.
They knew there were terrorists at that flight school because they PUT them there. It was a CIA-owned flight school in a CIA-controlled area making CIA drug runs. Of all the flight schools in the world, they just happened to end up there.
Of course, the government claims that Atta and his crew left town at the end of the year 2000. Garbage. Atta and his gang were living in Venice right up until mere days before they hit those towers.

This book is a trip into the shadowy underworld of covert ops - a world that your government would much rather you didn't know about and would like for you to believe doesn't even exist.

Stop believing the lies and take a trip to Venice with Hopsicker.

This book, perhaps more than any other, will convince hardened 9/11 skeptics that not only was there a conspiracy involving parties in addition to Al-Qaeda, but that the conspiracy included agencies of the US government.

My reason for targeting 9/11 skeptics in my review is simple -- this book presents facts that can all be verified, and does not engage in theories and speculation. The controlled demolition advocates can have their theories debunked, however unconvincingly. The intrepid researchers who attempt to "follow the money", for example the well documented spike in put options on airline stocks before September 11, 2001, are told that such trading anomalies are nothing out of the ordinary. _Welcome to Terrorland_, on the other hand is based on solid on-the-scene reports and interviews with reliable witnesses.

Mr. Hopsicker reveals that the FBI showed a keen interest in the activities surrounding the Venice, FL flight schools immediately after the 9/11 events. Their interest was not in the realm of investigation, however, as they seemed to have a good grasp of the situation before they came. Their interest was in confiscating evidence, intimidating witnesses, and creating a story about Mohammed Atta that was demonstrably false. Two main facets of the government's Mohammed Atta mythology were that Atta left the Florida West coast in late 2000, never to return, and that he "slipped into the USA unnoticed by authorities". Many credible local witnesses confirm that these are among the many bogus assertions put forth by authorities.

While many people know or at least suspect that the official 9/11 myth is preposterous, they cannot bring themselves to confront the truly frightening concept that their government could participate in a project that led to mass murder, the subsequent murder of a half million Iraqis notwithstanding. The successful disinformation campaigns that have severely weakened the 9/11 Truth Movement provide the skeptical and the fearful with ammunition for the former and excuses for the latter.

Probably the best way for some people to chip away at their fear and/or skepticism is to take a small but important and well-documented piece of the puzzle like _Welcome to Terrorland_, and educate themselves with it. To the fearful who read this book, I believe your fear will turn to anger and a desire to know more about the US government's 9/11 coverup. To the skeptical, please do read the entire book before closing your mind to the possibility that US government agencies could engage in criminal activity on US soil, including obfuscation and witness intimidation, and other more lethal activities.

Updates to the information provided in this book are found on Mr. Hopsicker's excellent website, which is not hard to find.

This review is from: Welcome to Terrorland: Mohamed Atta & the 9-11 Cover-up in Florida (Hardcover)
With the recent emergence of Operation Able Danger people who believe that they hadn't gotten the full story about 9/11 have gotten to peel back the layers of the onion that is the dark world of intelligence. This book concentrates on Mo Atta's movements prior to 9/11, and the people who apparently handled him. Here's just a tease: Did you know that the fellow who owned the flight school had a plane of his seized by the DEA within a month of Atta starting school? It was carrying a load of heroin. And while the DEA seized the plane they didn't do anything to him. It goes on. A good read, too. TERRORLAND pretty quickly turns the official story on its head. I can't wait for the next book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Investigative journailsm at its best, November 21, 2007
By
Paul Lappen (Manchester, CT USA) - See all my reviews
(VINE VOICE)    (REAL NAME)
This in-depth investigation explores one part of the 9-11 story: the activities of terrorist leader Mohamed Atta in Florida before that fateful day.

A major part of the official story is that Atta and his fellow hijackers slipped into America unnoticed and were able to attend flight school without attracting government attention. A person would think that law enforcement, including the FBI, would be interested in finding out the truth. There are numerous instances throughout this book of witnesses being intimidated into silence by the FBI. Soon after the attacks, the FBI raided the local police department, seized all the files on the "owner" of the flight school where several of the terrorists trained, and put them directly onto a military plane to Washington, accompanied by Florida Governor Jeb Bush.

A person named Mohamed Atta was accused of a bus bombing in Israel in the mid-1980s. Even if they were not the same person, wouldn't that have put the name "Mohamed Atta" on some terrorist watch list? A Mohamed Atta is also listed as a graduate of the US International Officers School at Maxwell AFB. The researchers who worked on this book offered to clear up the question for the Pentagon, free of charge, but they were not interested. Assertions from the Pentagon that they were not the same person were not convincing. As many as 7 of the hijackers received training at secure military installations. To even be considered for such a program would have required Atta to be on very friendly terms with an Arab ally, like Saudi Arabia.

Much of this book looks at Rudi Dekkers, the "owner" of Huffman Aviation. A Dutchman who is a fugitive back home in the Netherlands, he is generously described, by people familiar with aviation in Florida, as a "scumbag." He would fall several months behind on his rent at Venice Airport, then suddenly be flush with cash. He deserved to be arrested, several times over, on various state and federal charges. Each time, "high government officials" would tell his accusers to back off. Dekkers was also the subject of a federal task force accusing him of smuggling high technology out of the USA.

A reasonable question would be: Who cares what Atta and the others were doing in Florida before the attacks? If this one part of the official 9-11 story can be so thoroughly discredited, are there other parts of the official story that are similarly worthless? This book is very highly recommended. It is investigative journalism the way it is supposed to work; put a witness statement next to a seemingly unrelated verified fact, and see where the trail leads. This is very much worth reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Warning! Cover-up in progress., May 12, 2007
This review is from: Welcome to Terrorland: Mohamed Atta & the 9-11 Cover-up in Florida (Hardcover)
There are DOZENS of witnesses in Florida that are all telling the same story:
The FBI told me to keep my mouth shut.

And when they tell you the rest of the story, you'll know why.

This is the result of the only independent investigation into the network of people and organizations that are responsible for the 9/11 tragedy.

Spoiler: They're powerful enough to solicit the FBI's help in covering it up.

If you want to understand a bit more about 9/11
and the lives of the patsies like Atta before 9/11, read this book.
If you have no interest in how 9/11 changed everything,
stay asleep. "Muslim fundamentalists" do not eat pork, drink vodka, snort
cocaine and shag infidel strippers, and that is just the start of the
problems with the OCT (official conspiracy theory).

4.0 out of 5 stars Mohamed Atta and the 9-11 Flying Circus, March 20, 2009
By
J. Weir "911WTC-wtf?" (Overland Park, KS USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Daniel Hopsicker has written an interesting book that raises more questions than it answers. He spent two years investigating alleged terrorist ringleader, Mohamed Atta's time in Venice, Florida where he trained to fly. The problem is Atta already knew how to do that when he arrived in Florida to train. Not only that, Atta was well-educated, spending most of his adult life in Europe. He spoke several languages including French, German, English, Hebrew, and Arabic. Interestingly, the flying school he picked for flight training in Florida fronted for a CIA-sponsored heroin smuggling operation.
The FBI spent more time telling people in Venice to keep their mouths shut than gathering information on the 9-11 conspiracy to identify the guilty.
Who was giving Atta his instructions? We aren't told. Was he really piloting one of the planes that struck the World Trade Center in 2001? That is assumed.
Where did Atta get the cash he always had to spend? That isn't clear.
Why was Atta associating with Germans and other Europeans? The flying school owner told the press he hardly knew Atta, while locals reported the two spent a lot of time together. The guy was a spy, but whose agent was he?
The book highlights one more piece of the 9-11 story that makes no sense. The whole terror attack narrative cannot be what it seems, so what was it? The author appears to hint that the attack on 9-11 was part of a covert war over the control of oil and the heroin trade. If Atta had CIA sponsorship, was the attack on the WTC and the Pentagon a false flag operation to provide an excuse to invade Afghanistan? The book provides no guidance. All we know from his investigation is official story of the Islamic fundamentalist Arabs barely learning to fly in Venice, Florida before hijacking four airliners on a single day is a lie.
Hopsicker's book answers small questions, but raises huge ones which remain unanswered.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shock and Awe, June 26, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
If you think the government has told the truth about the 9-11 hijackers,as I once did, this book will leave you stunned. Daniel Hopsicker will take you on a rather informative tour through the terrorists stomping grounds in Florida prior to 9-11. His easy going writing style will make you feel as if he has invited you to join him on this tour by taking a comfy place in the back seat of his car. But you won't feel comfy for long.
Hopsicker exposes the light of day on what others have stumbled upon and decided to cover up and keep hidden. He reveals that there are plenty of dots to connect in this story, but the picture they form when connected is vastly different than the picture drawn by mainstream media and "official" government sources.
By the end of the book you will be faced with choosing between two rather unsavory conclusions: Is our government and it's various intelligence agencies guilty of criminal levels of pure neglect that resulted in mass murder? Or are parties in our government and others guilty of complicit acts and deliberate levels of neglect that aided and permitted the occurrence of mass murder?
