5.0 out of 5 stars Best rock/pop of the 80's without a doubt., September 6, 2000

This review is from: Welcome to/I Wear the Face (Audio CD)
What more can I say about these 2 albums. They are great. There's not much good music that came out of the 80's, except maybe for "The Police" "Van Halen". Unlike the late sixties which was the best period in rock with Jimi Hendrix(long live Jimi) leading the way. The 80's however gave us lots of crappy synth bands, which looking at them today makes you want to laugh, but then again most of todays band make you want to laugh or cry because musically they are just pathetic (most are tone deaf and musically empty). "Mr. Mister" was an exceptional band, so unique that I believe their music will never die. Their interesting and delicatelly beautiful melodies, their variety of textural sounds, their intelligent lyrics and most of all one of the most exquisite voices to come out of Rock/Pop (Mr. Richard Page, we salute you from all over the world/don't ever stop singing, you've got the best voice), made them the only band of the 80's that was deep enough to remember and enjoy for ever. It's such a pity that the band that included Richard Page and Steve George "Pages" has not been reissued on CD. They made 2 self titled albums in 1978 and 1981 and One in 1979 titled "Future Street" which is already available I believe from Japan. Please reisue all the albums including R. Page's 3rd Matinee "Meanwhile" 1994 and the last album Mr. Mister did called "Pull" 1988 which was not released because it was not considered commercial enough by the record company. I think that is a joke because "Go On"1987 was their best album so far and the one after that, "Pull", is said to be better from all the people that have heard bootleg copies of it. Anyway buy any Mr. Mister albums you can get your hands on, they are magic. (long live good music!!!!!!)
