Looks great and works Awesome.

Next the adjustment for the head strap would not stay tight and you'd hear the straps skip/jumping their teeth and loosening.
Tuan Burah
I'm no pro at welding but for the few times i have used it, it worked perfect.

I work full time as a welder 50 hrs + every week, this helmet is alright for someone who will only use it once in a while, where the front plastic lense sits there are gaps, as well as inside plastic lense, the little notch for your finger to pull out lense isnt sealed, meaning flying spatter can get under the plastic lense and cause damage to the lense inside obstructing your view. It has happened to me on inside and out, I had to fix this by putting strips of duct tape all around lense, also the plastic piece thst goes over the lense inside has started to come off also had to fix with duct tape, I could send pics if your intrested to see what im talking about, the electronic lense inside works good tho. OK, I decided I wanted an auto darkening welding helmet I could leave at work. I have a regular old fixed shade that I use there, but I've been spoiled by the Miller auto darkening helmet I bought last year. I use it at home and when I know I'll be melting a bunch of metal, I bring it to work with me. I found this at Menards, not sure who or where else its available. Normal price is $99.00, but it was on a bunch of sales, to good of price not to try it. First, it was sale priced at $69.00, I cought it on the last day of their 11% off everything sale, and the first day of their 14% off bag sale. When all that was said and done, right around $53 dollars I think.

The helmet has exterior controls that are easy to find and adjust with welding gloves on if you need to make an adjustment on the fly. Right side of helmet has a sensitivity knob that allows you to adjust for different ambient light levels while still triggering when it senses an arc strike. Scale there just says high to low with a variable sweep knob, no number values. Left side of helmet has the shade adjustment knob. This helmet has a range from 9 up to 13 with numbers to dial too if you want to preset it. Again, it is easily found/adjusted while wearing gloves, and if you have a free hand, could be dialed while welding.

The interior of the helmet has DIP switches that set the auto lightning feature delay time. The helmet always darkens in 1/30000th of a second, but can delay lightning up between .25 second - .8 second. A second switch inside controls the helmet for grind/weld mode. My Miller helmet has this feature and to be quite honest, I've never used it. I wear safety glasses when grinding and personally, I think wearing a big ole helmet while grinding would be a pain in the ass.

very cool helmet, like the look and fit.. dont like where the grinding and welding switch is located. also, dont like that they only give you 1 replacement shield for your front visor. otherwise, a good buy.

I ordered this for my welder husband and he loves it, Everyone at his shop loves it too, it is well worth the money. I was tired of seeing his eyes suffer, he's been a welder since he was 16 so some damage was already done. I ordered this and gave it to him as a Christmas present, he has used it everyday since and he loves it. Well worth the money and it even arrived two days before scheduled, the design looks awesome as well.

Yes this helmet protected my eyes from the arc, but everything else was black, even at the lowest setting. Oh, and the delay gets longer as the battery dies. And, the battery is sealed inside the filter element. So once the battery dies, you're out a welding helmet. Spend the money, and get a Miller or Speedglas.

I have another automatic welding helmet that i paid less money for but I like it better than this helmet. I don't like the location of the switch for the grinding mode vs the welding mode. I do like the headstrap better. It is more comfortable and wrapped with leathe tp keep the sweat from the eyes.

I'm a home welder and hobbyist, and for my needs the helmet is great. Auto darkening works well, comfortable helmet to wear. Yes it is a Chinese product so the quality is not stellar, however it gets the job done nicely. Obviously if you do a lot of welding you may want to upgrade to something a bit more. I haven't used it much as of yet, we'll see how things go once I dig into my projects a bit more.
