We started using this lotion on our baby when she was about six months old. We originally tried several other lotions to help with our baby's skin. We first tried Baby Aquaphor, which did a very good job, but decided to stop using it because the main ingredient is petrolatum. We then tried Burt's Bees and Nature's Baby Organics Moisturizer, but those didn't seem to work. Finally we tried Weleda after receiving a recommendation from a friend and have been using it for the past 1 1/2 years. We like that it goes on easily, leaves our baby's skin soft, and is all natural. The only negative (besides the cost) is that the lotion is a bit runny and we sometimes use more than we need. If it was less runny, I would have given the review 5 stars.
As far as this product containing almond oil, it does clearly state that in the description and also the bottle itself. Since I try to use only all natural products (no SLS, parabens, phthalates, questionable chemicals, etc...) for our baby, I do look at the ingredients before buying it for our baby.

I have tried several baby lotions, but this is the only one that leaves my baby's skin hidrated for more than a few hours.
I use it on my little one, and 24 hours later his skin still feels all soft and hidrated. I have not had that experience with any of the other lotions (Mustela, ISDIN, Letiat4). All natural ingredients with no phtalates or parabens, this is also very important for me. Great product, just like the whole baby calendula product line.

I have used this lotion on my baby girls skin since she was a month old. She has never had the red rash or any reaction to the lotion. It has a nice, "natural" smell, not laden with perfumes like other "baby" lotions.

I found this lotion to be really oily, and not very easy to apply. It also didnt seem to absorb well. I wouldnt buy it again.

Weleda makes great products, and this lotion is no exception. It is great for a tender babies skin and smells so sweet and clean. I highly recommend this lotion.

I bought this because of the great results we'd had with both the Weleda Diaper Cream and the Baby Face Cream. I wanted something a little less thick and easier to apply than the Face Cream. This lotion was definitely less thick but it did not really address the dryness of my baby's skin. Also, after about a week of using it I noticed the strong alcohol smell. I refused to believe that it was this lotion, but after checking the label, it did in fact list alcohol as one of the ingredients. Ick. In any case, I stopped using it on my baby and switched to plain old Cetaphil (which BTW...is FANTASTIC on both my kids- 4 month and 2.5 yrs). I guess either my husband or I will need to use it to get rid of it. I still love their diaper cream and the thicker, oilier face cream- esp. for easily chapped cheeks. I'll keep using those but we will not be buying this again!

My baby has a very dry skin and Weleda works perfect. Sometimes it does get oily but i guess its perfect for dry skins. And i love the smell of calendula.

My 18 month old daughter has always had red bumps and red skin on the back of her arms and cheeks. I have never got it looked at just put straight calendula cream on it and it always clears it up, well that was getting costly so i looked for a lotion with calendula in it and found this. Amazing! yes, its greasy but i don't mind it if it fixes her rash and it has!! Extremely pleased with it.

STINGS on Broken Skin,
By Kory (CT United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Weleda Baby Calendula Lotion, 6.8-Ounce (Health and Beauty)
This was recommended to me by a Naturopath since I have trouble with dry patches on my hands. It is very runny but natural and smells ok. My issue is that it stings very badly on broken skin. It might be ok on your baby if it does not have broken skin, but if the baby fusses at all when this is applied, PLEASE stop using this. I would suggest buying the Weleda Calendula Diaper Care instead. It is much thicker and does not hurt at all - even on broken skin.
