This review is from: Weleda Calendula Ointment 0.88 oz (Health and Beauty)
ive purchased over 5 types of calendula ointments/creams/oils and this one is the BEST it is simply calendula product and seems to have very little filler of anything else. it helps my eczema and also helps the sores on my dog. the best calendula i've found so far. worth it to order online.

4.0 out of 5 stars Exfoliative Cheilitis, June 29, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Weleda Calendula Ointment 0.88 oz (Health and Beauty)
About a year ago I developed what I am 99% certain is exfoliative cheilitis.

In a nutshell: my lips become very thin and inflamed for like a day and the next day they are no longer as inflamed but they start to peel. Once they peel they become inflamed again.

I have searched all over the internet and from what I've read little is known about this condition and people who have it have gone to countless dermatologists all to no avail.

The only thing that seems to help people are cortizone creams but most (myself included) do not like the idea of applying a steroid a couple of times a day every day.

During my searches I came across a study that got a lot of people who suffer with this condition excited: it seemed that the use of Calendula ointment for 15 days cured someone of their exfoliative cheilitis.

Now I've read of come people (on the curezone website) who tried it and it didn't work for them but I was so desperate I figured I would try it out and wanted to leave this review for others who may be suffering:

Did the Calendula ointment work for me?

Yes and No.

My exfoliative cheilitis has not been cured and this ointment does not work as well as cortizone cream BUT it does work/help with the inflammation, it doesn't taste foul like cortizone cream and I much prefer putting something natural on my lips a couple of times a day as opposed to a steroid.

So my plan is to use this on a daily basis and if I know I have an event upcoming and I need my lips to be under the control I will revert to the cortizone for a short while.

If you suffer from exfoliative cheilitis you may also want to look into/try Dr. Dans CortiBalm Lip Balm for Chapped Lips - 0.15 Oz (3 pack). it also helps.

If anyone reads this review and has info on exfoliative cheilitis and what may have helped them please leave a comment.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product, November 15, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Weleda Calendula Ointment 0.88 oz (Health and Beauty)
The Calendula Ointment by Weleda's is very pure and contains no white petrolatum as the Boiron does. I think it helps my wounds heal faster. In addition it seems to diminish the recent scars on my leg from walking into the dishwasher door. My scar was about 4 inches, and my scar is now about 2 inches.
