Okay, I'll admit it. I'm a Destroyer fan, so I might be a little bit biased. But hear me out on this.

When I first heard Destroyer's WE'LL BUILD THEM A GOLDEN BRIDGE, I was severely disappointed. The music is all off-key and instruments blare in strange places and Dan Bejar's voice is not quite under control.
But, being a Destroyer fan, I kept listening to it.
It gets better the more you listen to it. All of Destroyer's albums require two listens to really appreciate, but this one might take three or four.

Also, keep in mind that this is Dan Bejar's very first cd. He recorded it by himself on a four-track. Listen closely, take note of the fact that there are only four instruments playing at a time.
Just give it a chance. It's really good stuff, honestly.

destroyer sets the mood for those who spend too much time in their bedroom thinking about love and politics. anyone who likes their words twisted like vines around catchy tunes should purchase this record...
