5.0 out of 5 stars very enlightening and helpful
I found this guide to acupressure for pet dogs to be clear and easy to use. It is the only book of its type that I could find, targeted for beginners. I especially liked the lists of specific conditions or problems, and how to treat them. One of my dogs was treated for a hot spot using this book. The relief he got was immediate and evident to everyone in the room...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good start, could be improved
This book contains very good information and is useful. It could be improved by adding an index, giving page numbers for specific techniques mentioned in the table of contents, and giving written descriptions of how to find the points. It is not possible to precisely pinpoint the acupuncture/pressure spot with just the dot on a dog diagram. There are some typos that...

I found this guide to acupressure for pet dogs to be clear and easy to use. It is the only book of its type that I could find, targeted for beginners. I especially liked the lists of specific conditions or problems, and how to treat them. One of my dogs was treated for a hot spot using this book. The relief he got was immediate and evident to everyone in the room. Another dog has benefited from acupressure treatment for joint disease. Both my dogs and I have enjoyed a closer, more satisfying relationship using regular acupressure techniques described in this book. People with an open mind, willing to try something different for their pets, will love it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thumbs up for a much needed canine acupressure book!, November 21, 2004
This review is from: The Well-Connected Dog: A Guide to Canine Acupressure (Paperback)
Well researched, superbly written and easily understood by the beginner, this is the primer for all dog lovers who are striving to improve their animal's health.
Traditional Chinese medicine is a difficult conceptfor most Westerners, and the authors explain the basic principles in a manner that allows we "newbies" to start affecting change in their dog's health immediately after reading their book.
I highly recommend this book to those who are searching for a more holistic approach to their animal's health care.

Never being familiar with canine acupressure before, I found this book very easy to read and very easy to understand. I read the book and then read it again. The second time I read it I tried a few of the techniques on my dogs. They loved it! I highly recommend this book to any dog owner.

There are some typos that should have been caught by the publisher. Over-all a useful book. I hope they come out with an updated edition that particularly contains an index.

4.0 out of 5 stars I love this book, July 31, 2006
This review is from: The Well-Connected Dog: A Guide to Canine Acupressure (Paperback)
My copy arrived earlier than expected, and in excellent condition. Kudos to [...].
I have found the book to be easy to read, and the diagrams are very clear, and easy to understand.
I have already tried some accupressure on my little schnanuzer, and noticed some improvementin her pain level.I hope to improve on this, as I get more proficient with practice.

3.0 out of 5 stars Informative, But Poor Diagrams Make Implementation Difficult, July 23, 2009

This book is informative and provides a good explanation of the concepts of canine acupressure. However, rudimentary diagrams make it almost impossible to identify specific points on the body. Without this critical guide, the practical application of the information in this book, is limited.
When I purchased this book, it was my hope to add acupressure to the massage therapy I am able to provide for my dog. However, without a natural intuitive sense of these pressure points, I am at a loss to apply pressure without a specific diagram that would show me the exact location of the numerous points on the canine body.
It is a shame as it is basically a very fine book, but given the context, I consider the lack of exact direction in finding the acupressure points a significant flaw.

5.0 out of 5 stars ACCUPRESURE, November 4, 2008
This review is from: The Well-Connected Dog: A Guide to Canine Acupressure (Paperback)
OUR LAB MIX DOG (MERLIN) SUFFERED A SPINAL EMBOLISM AND WAS PARALIZED IN THE REAR RIGHT LEG, GOT HIM TO THE VET IMMEDIATELY TO GET STEROIDS AND ANTI-INFLAMATORIES ON BOARD, DIDN'T HAVE THE BEST PROGNOSIS. ORDERED THIS BOOK AND BEGAN WITH THE ACCUPRESURE AND MASSAGE 3 X A DAY. HE HAS MADE A MIRACULOUS RECOVERY IN ONLY 8 WEEKS WITH ABOUT 85% USE OF THE LEG. I BELIEVE THAT THIS BOOK REALLY HELPED AND IT IS EASY TO READ AND UNDERSTAND. IF THIS HAPPENS TO YOUR DOG, DON'T GIVE UP, WE ALMOST DID AND ARE SO GLAD NOW THAT WE DIDN'T.

3.0 out of 5 stars Very good guide, April 18, 2011

This review is from: The Well-Connected Dog: A Guide to Canine Acupressure (Paperback)
The dogs are a bit confused as I practice on them but it is clear enough that I can feel confident I won't harm them as I learn accupressure. I may never be a pro from this book but I hope to relieve some of their aches and pains in the years to come. I have seen some online material as good or better but this is simpler while sitting on the floor with the dog.

2.0 out of 5 stars Layout is very difficult, December 9, 2008
This review is from: The Well-Connected Dog: A Guide to Canine Acupressure (Paperback)
Lack of an index makes this book difficult for the reader. Trying to find specific points is also challenging due to the graphics used. I l was surprised to find so many typos which should have been caught before print.
