I had no idea that Katey Sagal had such a wonderful voice until I heard her sing "Suddenly Semour" on Scott Dreier's self-titled album! So I bought her cd--it's fantastic. She has a great rock and roll sound, a bit raspy and very sensual.

Top Notch!, September 16, 2006
This is one of my favorite commerical recordings ever! Ever!
Katey Sagal has a beautiful alto/mezzo soprano voice that caresses the entire CD. I don't know why I bought it when I did. She was still on Married With Children at the time, and except for her gimmicky get-up (the hair, etc) I didn't like her in it, nor anyone else --- well, except maybe Bud (LOL). He was hilarious! But I digress.
I had never seen her in anything else, and I sure had never heard her sing a single note. I was in the store, saw the CD on display and thought, "Why not?" Man was I floored! Every single song on the album is perfect! [I've got a pet peeve with one lyric on the whole recording and she's not even the one singing it: "Valley high, valley low?" Who's ever heard of a high valley? I'm digressing again.] She doesn't go off in the sky with ridiculous riffs, she just sings the songs with some great ad-libbing, period.
And that last song, "Dignity!" Why, why, why was it not a hit? This is a most fine piece of work! As I said, one of my favorite commercial recordings ever! Get it!

Get Katey's CD's . . ., October 15, 2006
Like many people, I have been watching Katey Sagal on television for years and knew she was a great comedic actor and have recently discovered her dramatic chops through guest spots on such shows as Lost & Boston Legal. But very recently, I have experienced her incredible singing talent, too.
I first found Katey on Scott Dreier's self-titled cd on their version of "Suddenly, Seymour" from the Broadway musical "Little Shop of Horrors".(check it out. Also a great album.) The beautiful blend of their voices and the ability of these two fine actors to put across the lyric makes this an amazing cut; and led me to Katey's "Well..." (and "Room"). Her voice is easy and strong at the same time. A former Harlette (back-up singer for Bette Midler), this woman is a seasoned performer, has clearly lived some life, and both come through on this great cd.
