Wella Color Charm is the ONLY toner I use.
VictoriaH1984
This is great for toning down the yellow, red, and orange in my very dark brown hair when I lighten it to a light brown/really dark blonde.
DD
Comes out looking like perfectly light brown ashy natural hair.

If you are trying to zap any yellow/orange in your hair, go silver/purple, or all of the above then this toner is for you. When I was taking my hair to white and was trying to get rid of some annoying spots of yellowish orange I used a cap full of this in a mixture of my other toners - T18 and T14 - and viola! Color achieved :)

I had a salon color that left my hair very golden/brassy. My stylist went on a three-week vacation after my appointment, and I had a job interview and could not leave my hair that hideous color for three weeks. (Yes, I got the job!) :)

Checked with Sallys' Beauty Supply and they recommended this toner. Was a little hesitant to try because the color swatch shows light blonde, though the toner says "T28 Neutral Blonde". I didn't want to go to a lighter blonde, I prefer a dark blonde. This product says to apply up to 30 minutes. I left on for 25 and the results are incredible! The brassiness/gold is 100% gone, leaving my hair soft, shiny and a beautiful blonde/beige. It actually darkened my hair shade some, which I wanted. Makes my complexion look better. My stylist had done a bylage (sp?) color on my hair, which left it streaky and unnatural looking. This toner evened out the color with some highlights coming through, so two-tone dimensional hair color, but not streaky. I really love the color!

After using this, I went grocery shopping, and FOUR ladies stopped me in the store to tell me my hair color was beautiful!

The only con is the smell is very strong. Apply in a well ventilated area. I used a sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner afterwards to keep the color from fading. So far, so good.

If you're trying to cool orange, this won't help, it will cool yellow. try the T14 to cool orange. I learned this the hard way!

I used this to tone my rather brassy hair, which was originally black-brown but I'd dyed ombre. I could tell it had some effect: it paled the yellowness of my hair a bit, but it still looked on the brassy side. I ended up having to use L'oreal Excellence Cream (Dark Ash Blonde) to finish the process.

I have been dyeing my hair light blonde for about 13 years, and have never loved my color as much as when I tried this toner on it. My natural hair was blonde as a child, but turned a pretty dark brown as I got older. Like most bottle blondes, I've experienced brassiness that was worse at some times than others. I always use a light ash blonde dye, but some brands just don't come out ashy on me at all. I purchased this toner about 6 months ago, and was afraid to try it due to all of the varying reviews. This month when I dyed my hair with a brand that is not what I usually use, my roots were bright yellow. I couldn't stand it any more, and decided to give this a shot. Boy am I glad I did. I just wish I would have used it sooner.

I kept reading that this toner must be used with a 20 volume developer. It even says so on the box. But because I have done quite a bit of research, I read that 20 volume developer will also "lift" or lighten your hair as it tones. I had read that 10 volume developer would just tone without lightening. I certainly didn't want to take my already light blonde to a white state, so I went for 10 volume developer. This was part of my hesitation- I had no idea what the result would be since there are very few reviews on this product with a 10 volume developer. Anyway, I mixed up one full bottle of this toner with double the amount of developer and smooshed it into my roots. I left it on for about 8 minutes, and then ran some of the mixture through my ends for 2 minutes before washing it out. I didn't want to leave it on for too long with my first trial, and I think the timing was just about right. While the toner was on my hair, it appeared to be turning my hair darker.

Color Name: Lightest Ash Blonde
After doing tons of research about getting back to platinum blonde, I noticed a lot of mentions of this product so I gave it a try.

The pre-bleaching is the scary part. After numerous rounds of bleach on my fine wavy blonde hair (which I had been dying red for over a year), I was ready to try this toner.

I. Was. Petrified. Bleaching left me with alien-white roots and a fretful lemon-to-brassy spectrum on the lengths of my hair. Please, Lady Wella, I thought to myself, I hope there is magic in your Color Charm.

I'd bought two packs to be safe because no way in blessed Hades am I leaving the house until I have my hair a shade that at least looks like it was intentional. Luckily once I mixed it with 20-volume developer I only needed about half of it. It has a goopy texture not unlike egg whites that spread easily through my hair. Nervously I left it on about 25 more minutes to 'cook'.

By then my head was purple and I really couldn't monitor what my color was looking like, so I washed it out as quickly as I could and jumped out of the shower. Seeing my foggy reflection in the mirror, I let out an auditory &@$############### and ran to the bedroom to inspect it better.

Once it started to dry, I calmed down. My roots were pretty much white but the lengths were nearly the same shade, and drastically closer than they had been before the toner. I will give the (slight) problem spots another light bleaching when I need to touch up my roots.

Until then, I need to get back to cleaning my bathroom in my towel, thinking to myself, 'I am Daenerys Stormborn of House Targaryen, the Unburnt, Mother of Dragons, Breaker of Chains.'
