5.0 out of 5 stars mine solder iron review, June 21, 2010

This review is from: Weller WM120 12w/120v Pencil Thin Soldering Iron (Tools & Home Improvement)
this is a perfect soldering iron, where low heat is desirable. I had a situation with extremely small wires and a flexable circuit board. This iron did the trick

5.0 out of 5 stars I think I am in love., March 29, 2011
This review is from: Weller WM120 12w/120v Pencil Thin Soldering Iron (Tools & Home Improvement)
I have been using this iron for about six months now and I still love it. If you don't forget to unplug this thing the tip is quite durable. I've been using it for surface mount and small through hole projects, as well as soldering to traces (not fun.) Where my 25w would burn and scar the circuit board this little beauty will jump right in solder what I need it to and not leave any burn marks. It is simply a wonderful low power Iron.

PROS: Low power / Low heat. Tip is about as small as I would want one and quite durable.

CONS: Low power / Low heat (go figure.) It doesn't have the power to remove high temp solder with solder braid (and it shouldn't) so have a 25w handy for the times when you need to use solder braid.

5.0 out of 5 stars How small can you solder?, January 5, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Weller WM120 12w/120v Pencil Thin Soldering Iron (Tools & Home Improvement)
I purchased this tiny soldering iron so that I could rework some surface mount components. I usually choose Weller when soldering. Haven't had much trouble with Weller, just be sure the item being soldered is not plugged in or you will need to buy another iron. It works great! Now I need a magnifying glass so that I can see what I am doing. LOL
