Really, I would give this four and a half stars, just because there are no instructions. I put it on the way it is shown in the photo (as much as I can see) and it seems to work fine. I run/walk 3-4 miles per day and my knee felt like it had bee stingers in it at the end of the day, I couldn't pull my knee all the way under my thigh. At first, I even wore it all day until I felt consistent relief, now I just wear it during my daily exercise jaunt. Somehow, this item keeps the ligaments or tendons straight around the kneecap and relief seems to follow. The velcro attachment works well so far, and the sizing is adjustable but people with very thick knees might find it too small.

My boyfriend was reluctant to try this product because it's "made for women" but he's found it to be the most comfortable knee support he's ever tried. He's slender but tall (5'11'') and this fits him fine.

He's an avid tennis player and this allows him to play on the hard courts without near as many problems as he used to have with his knees. He's also started taking the Osteo-BiFlex and that's helping a lot, too!!

This product is very comfortable and really help the knee support, however it's not 1 size fits all. I have a pretty athletic leg and I wish I could tight it a little bit more!

If you sweat too much the it "dances" on your knee, so if you exercise with tight pants (for girls) the best option is to wear it on top of it

I am gratefully surprised how this little strap indeed keeps my knee from tweaking out.

**Update April 2010: This little strap continues to do the trick during my workouts or any time my knee feels like it needs a little extra support. I am getting another as my husband has been borrowing mine. He is also impressed on how such a lightweight simple item performs. I did try another brand and found it too bulky and uncomfortable so even though this item is no longer an amazon prime product, I re-ordered anyway.
