I first noticed in the other reviews that people mentioned a bad smell. I am using this rope mostly in abandoned buildings, narrow crawl spaces and shallow pits; the smell has not overshadowed any of its usefulness.

The strength and flexibility is ideal. I find that if one is really working the knots they tend to get tighter and the addition of any liquid only serves to make them more difficult to undo.

I would highly recommend this rope for all of your securing and trussing needs. If any one is interested please let me know, I have some great recommendations for shovels and hack saws.

Great rope for crafting. This is basic rope - nothing special or outstanding. It works for what I'd like (making rope flowers and covering bottles and jars).

I bought this rope for the garden, and it will work very well there. I also bought it to use some for my pet birds for climbing on. I don't plan to use it with the birds b/c it smells oily/industrial (not too strong) and leaves a bit of light grease on my fingers. This may be natural or a treated rope, I'm not sure, but others should know it might not be all natural.

I wouldn't recommend this particular rope for shibari unless you have a sadistic streak, much too scratchy for all but the most hardcore players. Since it is natural, it does come oiled to preserve its flexibility I would guess, so you probably don't want that on your skin anyway. That might explain why I itched profusely afterward.

Fortunately, I found an alternative use for this in making kitty scratching posts. It's got the right amount of grit that cats like, and it's tough enough to conform to any scratch pad configuration you'd want to fasten it down on. I don't have to keep spending money on those weak cardboard scratchers anymore. I just sprinkle a little catnip on it, and we're good to go.

When you need to tie something up, don't need that thing to be suspended in any way, and want to prevent the thing from wiggling loose and/or provide the thing with some lovely rope burns to hide from her coworkers at the library, this rope is perfect. Mine arrived with the ends taped, and I suggest you tape, wax, or wrap the ends, as this stuff frays like crazy.

It's rope. Hard to mess that up. It's fibrous and twisted. Deep brown in color. Ends tapped to prevent fraying.

I used it for crafting. I have an oar for decor purposes and wrapped the rope around part of the handle. It served its purpose. It was bendable enough to he no issues going around the 2.5 in handle and to stay In tact with a glue gun. It was a bit wispier than preferred, but it worked out ok. I had more of a boat rope in mind when ordered rather than a utility rope but again, its nice looking and functional. Nice manilla color I was looking for.
