Wells C1556 Ignition Coil

Situation and Solution
A failed OE ignition coil causes the cylinder to misfire and sets a trouble code.
The Wells Vehicle Electronics team of engineers designed and developed a coil to interface with the OE computer and the diagnostic trouble code system. Wells coils produce OE performance for high-voltage and spark duration.
Wells ignition coils contain a custom-designed and manufactured hybrid thick-film circuit, with a micro-controller design for greater flexibility. They use thermally compensated interconnects and new generation IGBT (ignition driver) for superior switching performance. Designed to fit the OE (Original Equipment) wire harness connectors and seals, Wells coils feature a powdered metal magnetic core design. The custom-engineered bobbin is designed to hold the magnetic wire in a precise location for long-term durability.
Electronic driver circuitry is designed for performance, consistency, and durability. The magnetic core holds and directs the magnetic flux to ensure product performance. Wells ignition coils listen to commands from the computer and respond directly as instructed. All ignition coils are tested 1,000 hours at 125 degrees Celsius for product durability, as well as thermal-shock tested to endure real-world climate conditions. They ensure easier installation, greater reliability, and extended life, and are designed to interface with the ECM (Engine Control Module) to prevent failure and misdiagnosed trouble codes.
