I have worn out so many pairs of this style glove that I thought it was time to spend a little more for these "bullet-proof" (kevlar, aramid, whatever) gloves. I am impressed! The dexterity is great, which is why I like this style to begin with. The fabric is super resistant to cuts. I could not resist taking a razor knife to the cuff right after receiving them. I put a lot (enough to cut deeply into leather) of pressure on a new razor and it did not even score the fabric! <--(Pictures of my experiment to follow.) I work with sheet metal often and have ruined gloves and cut my hands a few times when my work shifts or slides. I can tell these will offer far more protection than I am accustomed to. I will update after a few months to let you all know how well they are wearing. -- Updated in comments -- I cannot recommend these gloves highly enough!!

My new job requires that I process A LOT of flowers a week (carnations, alstromeria, lilies, etc.) The real bastards are the roses. Those damn things bite hard. I'd tried everything...leather, chain-mail meat cutters' gloves, layered gloves...nothing worked. Either the gloves were too thin, or the layers made them too thick. In frustration, I looked for something, ANYTHING, that would reduce or eliminate the possibility of the sharp thorns that would inevitably draw blood. My brother suggested glass-installers' gloves. I told him we already had those at the shop, but the rubber on them was about as good as Saran Wrap. He then said the magic word..."kevlar".

A light went on over my head...my fingers flew over the keyboard, looking for "kevlar gloves", and lo and behold, my salvation was just a few clicks away. A big bonus (aside from the Wells Lamont name) was the stainless steel reinforcement (much like the meat cutters' chain-mail gloves I had briefly used). Unfortunately, those damn roses got me YET AGAIN before these gloves arrived. Our floral designers (of which one is the only other guy in the shop...he even tested these gloves on himself with one of our box cutters), and our front counter girl thought these were pretty neat gloves.

I had roses to process today...and I never felt the thorns. Score one for the new kevlar/steel gloves.

These gloves were bought as a Father's Day gift for my husband to be used while crab fishing in Puget Sound. Previous experience with Dungeness crab had left us in a quandary about how to get them out of the pot and into the live-well without losing a chunk of flesh. In the past we used leather gloves, but they were less than ideal in salt water and took forever to dry, not to mention we didn't have a lot of confidence in them holding up under the crabs' pinchers.

My husband was extremely skeptical about these gloves, but I assured them that they would do the job. Day 1 of crab fishing 2013 and the gloves were put to the test, with a crab pinching my husband's finger. From what I gathered (after I recovered from a crab flying at my face), the crab pinched my husband, which startled him to the point where he tried to fling it off of his hand (and thus, straight toward my head). Without the gloves, there certainly would have been damage to his finger. As for me, I ducked quickly enough to avoid a good thwacking and we were able to recover the crab and get it into the live-well. After that, my husband knew the gloves worked as advertised and we were able to continue fishing without any more incidents.

Bonus: they dry relatively quickly & run true to size.

For this price and because I have never had a set of aramid gloves, I had to test the cut resistance. I swiped the back of the glove with a box cutter half a dozen times and I cannot see any damage. I did the back of the glove because I knew the durable Nitrile rubber would add far more protection on the palm and fingers. I wanted to test out the weakest point.

These gloves fit very snug and the thick rubber coating will take some time to break in. They felt a little stiff and uncomfortable at first, but after clenching my fist a few hundred times on tasks, it settled into my hand's natural grooves somewhat. The Nitrile rubber coating on the palm and fingers remains tacky throughout any job I have attempted.

5 stars for a low cost, sturdy, and well thought out product.

I love these gloves for gardening. They stretch to fit my big hands.
If I know I will be working in lots of water, sometimes I put on a pair of latex gloves underneath and these gloves still fit good over them.
Also, these gloves dry out quickly after rinsing off the mud.
I used to buy these a Lowes, but they quit carrying them. So glad I found them on Amazon.

I work in an appliance warehouse and have to lift a lot of heavy boxes all day long. Although the gloves are tough and cut resistant, the kevlar coating came off after 2 months and after 4 months my finger started to poke through the right hand pointer finger. They work great for light to moderate lifting, but heavy lifting destroys these gloves.

Got these to use with a mandoline (vege slicer), the blade quickly cut through the rubber and Kevlar. Not worth it.
