5.0 out of 5 stars Best work gloves made!, April 20, 2011
This review is from: Wells Lamont 224 White Mule Leather Gloves, Large (Misc.)
I have worn these White Mule gloves for over 20 years and I LOVE them. I rely on them for many different types of work including carpentry, fence repair, general hand protection in the shop etc. but to me they are the best welding gloves made. They are constructed of quality leather that is soft and also wears well and resists cuts and abrasion. They have a lining that adds heat protection so I can handle hot metal. They are far more flexible that standard welder's gloves. They allow me to pick up small items when I have them on and when I need to use my bare fingers, the open cuff design lets me flip them off with a couple little flicks of my wrist letting me use my other hand to hold a bolt or wrench.

I always wash them in the washing machine when they're really dirty too. They usually last through about 4 cycles of getting dirty and washing. However, you really should put them on your hands and flex them into a fist four to six times immediately after you take them out of the washer. If you don't they dry hard and rigid and it takes longer to break soften them up after they dry. After the wash and flexing, just let them air dry in a natural hand shape (leave the glove open like a hand is inside) and when you put them on the next day at work, you'll soften them back up in a few minutes.

I really appreciate these gloves because not only have I been an active welder for over 20 years, I also earned a masters degree in Cello performance so I need to treat my hands well to protect them. These gloves have saved me many times. I rely on them and they've never let me down. Hey Wells Lamont! Please don't stop making them!
