This review is from: The Welsh Revival: Its Origin and Development (Paperback)
This book is not about the Welsh revival you've probably heard about with Evan Roberts. This is about the revival that preceeded that one by about 40 years (about 1859) What makes it worthy of the stars is that it is a collection of first hand accounts of the glory of God. I can get so encouraged just by reading a few pages. As an account of history, the sections I've read can be tough to follow because it is mostly testimonies. is not really that easy to grasp what is going on from the book. For those interested in the Welsh revivals, which some say lasted almost uniterrupted for 200 years, Dr. Martin Lloyd-Jones is a well known scholar who grew up in the revival. Daniel Rowlands, and Evan Roberts are key figures worthy of studying.
