5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful Songstress, January 21, 2005
Wendy Moten is one of those rare talents that arrives in a flash and disappears as quickly. It escapes me why this lovely young woman with the perfect voice for love songs and ballads is not a household name by now. She can sing any type of song unlike the ridiculously overrated pop tarts of today who can not carry a tune in a bucket. "So Close To Love" and "Come In Out of the Rain" remain my favorites from her debut album. I hope that we have not heard the last from this talented songstress.

5.0 out of 5 stars The best female R and B song I have ever heard, March 3, 2006
By R. Ruble (Norcross, ga United States) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This will be quick. I have never heard a better R & B female song than "Come out of the Rain" I am a 46 year old white male who probably has played this song more than any other song in my lifetime. I would put this CD in my top 20 of all time. My favorite music is Rock, but this R & B singer captured me like no other. A must get!!!!!!!!!!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Moten is in e-Motion, August 20, 2004
By Paul M "aka sillysib7" (Detroit, MI USA) - See all my reviews
Yes, that's a corny title for the review, but it does capture how I feel. I had this title on cassette back in 1992 when it first was released. I think Wendy Moten did not get the press she deserved and was tossed-off as a Whitney/Mariah wannabe, though she's much more than that.

I fell in love with the radio-friendly singles "So Close To Love," and "Come In Out of the Rain" when I first heard them. The latter is quite possibly one of the finest ballads I have heard to date.

But Wendy proves she knows how to get you to shake your booty with tracks like "Nobody But You," "Step By Step" (not to be confused with the New Kids track of the same name), and "Magic Touch."

Wendy Moten should have been a bigger star than she wound up being. But with what's going on (or isn't going on) with Whitney and Mariah these days, it looks like she may even be better off in the long haul as being someone only some of us remember.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best
recorded vocal performances of our time. Moten's rendition of Come In Out Of The Rain is a stellar effort with few peers in any genre. And it sounds better with age.
