OK, so we don't have a Plasmatics DVD... this is the next best thing, the late Wendy O' Williams w/ Motorhead's Lemmy and Wurzel. I've had this on VHS for over ten years. The quality on this way supercedes that. 12 Songs recorded at the Camden Palace Theater, London in 1995. This is part of K-Tel (HA HA HA HA !!!!) new DVD releases. They also released VENOM if you are into the original Black Metal Band (before Black Metal).

Highly recommended!!!! MORE PUNK!!! Great sound and video. We'll miss you WENDY!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not what I expected, but not bad, July 18, 2004

Tracks:

1. Goin' Wild
2. Pedal to the Metal
3. You'll Succeed
4. No Class
4. Party
5. Jammin' (Instrumental)
6. Hey Hey (Live to Rock)
7. Jail Bait
8. Ain't None of Your Business
9. Bump 'N' Grind
10. **** That Booty
11. **** 'N' Roll

I knew nothing about Wendy O. Williams' career after the Plasmatics and so was expecting Punk when I bought this DVD. But instead, in this Sept. 1985 concert in London England, Wendy hooks up with three typical '80s Metalheads for a concert that turned out to be Heavy Metal rather than Punk.

While the riffs are pretty much your generic '80s Metal riffs, what makes the concert work here is the pure sweat-soaked, hard-drivin' charisma of Wendy herself. With her hoarse, raspy voice like some streetwalker who's been round the block one too many times and her taught, bodybuilding contest-worthy body, she gradually whips the crowd into a frenzy. Along the way there's some fun with sledgehammers and chainsaws, and Wendy also performs an amazing feat of strength that proves her a true rock'n'roll Amazon.

Motorhead's Lemmy and Wurzel even show up to strap on their axes and join in on the action on "Jail Bait".

When Wendy committed suicide in 1998 rock'n'roll lost one of its true originals, and I think it was for this originality even more than for her music that I loved her. It was real characters like her who made the music scene of the 80s so much more interesting than the world of slick, pre-fab, pre-packaged, record company-controlled "product" that we have today.

Back in 1980, CITY-TV in Toronto (owners of Much Music) filmed a Plasmatics concert for their show "The New Music". But until that ever gets released to us, this will most likely remain our only precious footage of the late great Wendy O. in action.

So grab yourself the DVD before it's gone, crank up that volume, and get ready to rock out -- 80s Metal style!
