Nice unit, however, one has to follow directions exactly or the wire will get tangled upon rewinding and untangling is almost impossible. Also, the recoil mechanism at the USB end of the cord is yet another item to deal with and tends to weigh the cord down making use of this mouse a bit awkward.

Compact & sleek. Love the fact it keeps the cord out of the way and hard-wired is a more reliable choice for me than wireless.

I used this mouse extensively for about 2-3 months, by extensively I mean used for gaming on my HP Dv9000z. The retractable cord function is great, and the cost was very low. However, the cable used to connect the mouse is very thin, and after repeated extending and retracting, it became loose somewhere along the line (either in the retraction, or at the mouse, or at the USB port). If you are planning on using this mouse from time to time, its a great option, I'm sure under normal usage just traveling or in meetings it would stand up quite well to the task, however under heavy usage... choose something else. The responsiveness of the mouse and the ease of moving it were great, as I said I used it for PC gaming as a cheap laptop alternative to using my Bluetooth Logitech MX1000 mouse which is too laggy for gaming.

This mouse is very handy for browsing as it has the extra buttons for back and forward options on any browser. It's small and fits well in the laptop case. It's must acceessory for anyone who is on the run.

I have had so many annoyances with fighting for signal bandwidth for my wireless mice that I've gone back to wired. And this one turned out to be a decent solution. I feels small and awkward, but that may be true of all compact mice designed to be netbook/laptop accessories. The unwind/rewind feature is convenient. The big question is if that concentrates too much stress on the wire at the exit of the mouse. It's more sensitive than my other mice, but that also means that I need to move my hand less. That is useful when I'm in a cramped space in an airport.

The mouse is a great size for a Notebook laptop however, the retractable mouse is a bit finicky. To get it to retract, you occasionally need to play with it.

I would have given this product a zero rating if it were available. I was very disappointed to find the the Wenger mouse didn't work right out of the box. I also tried out the retractable cord and that didn't work very smoothly at all, immediately becoming tangled. If not for that, I probably would have asked for a replacement, but instead chose to just return the item. Prior to this purchase I bought a cordless Wenger mouse in a local Wal-mart and within a week the buttons started to stick, they replaced it for me and within a few days the replacement started to malfunction also. I would suggest staying away from this manufacturer when it comes to computer mice. I don't think it's just a coincidence that all 3 of their products had defects.

I'm on my 2nd replacement mouse in 5 months. The mouse is always under the same operating conditions as it is always with my laptop and I've had the laptop for 2 years now without any problems. It has the best features of any mouse for its size but the durability is horrible. Buy something else.

It's a shame, because I really like the mouse. Unfortunately they seem incapable of lasting for more than 60 days. I know because I'm on my 3rd and it just died also. This is not due to rough treatment, simply the ordinary life of a mouse that travels with a laptop. Near as I can tell the cable itself is too thin and flimsy not to short out after a couple of months of use. On the upside I've had no trouble getting it replaced via the 1 year warranty.
