4.0 out of 5 stars good tent, just NOT for five people
I bought this tent thinking the dimensions of 12'X 10' would be plenty big for four people. What is not mentioned is that this tent is hexagonal and that it only reaches 12' X 10' at the very corners. We were able to squeeze 3 cots into the tent with only enough room for our bags under the cots. I would venture to say it would fit only a full sized mattress. Having said...

We were able to squeeze 3 cots into the tent with only enough room for our bags under the cots. I would venture to say it would fit only a full sized mattress. Having said that, this is a pretty good 2, maybe 3 person tent. Set up was easy and the door zipper didn't stick like most tend to do. It did not rain, so I'm not sure about it's waterproof capabilities, but the dome shape stood up very well to windy conditions. Bottom line: small, but good, sturdy tent.

I love this tent. I can set it up alone(or with the help of a 6 and 7 year old). We were in 2 storms the first time we used it and stayed dry. The only problem I can see is that when it rains and you unzip the door you may get a little water in the tent off the door. Once I realized this I now make sure we push the door out and it works,it stays dry.The amount of water was minimal and could be wiped up with a paper towel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Spacious and simple, December 5, 2010

It's not camping season but I set this up in the back yard after it arrived. Set up was very simple despite the 13 step instructions. It was easier with two people but I'm sure I could do it alone in less than 5 minutes. Inside is very spacious and could easily fit 5 adults without the divider curtain but would be cramped with gear. 4 would be very comfortable. I don't know about cots, I just use thermarests. The removable curtain is only an illusion of privacy but what can you expect? Stakes do seem a little cheap but due to the shape certain corners must be staked down for a taut pitch.

My husband and I upgraded from a small 2 person tent to this 2 room tent that we could stand up in. We plan to sleep in one side and keep gear and maybe a couple chairs on the other side. It's a little extravagant for 2 people but western Washington almost always has a constant drizzle during some of the camping trip and with this tent we'll have room to keep gear and sleeping bags away from the sides of the tent, and a place to retreat to rather than trying to put tarps up around a campfire.

I can't wait to go camping!

Have only used this once so far for a music festival and it was functional. It seems to be decent quality fot a cheap tent. It's exactly what I thought it would be and what we were looking for. Happy with it. It has plenty of space for two parents, a child, and bags.

3.0 out of 5 stars Decent for price..., July 4, 2011

It's a decent tent and it held up to Burning Man conditions fairly well (strong winds, some rain). Albeit the front portal shade structure kept coming loose and falling out. The floor plan is super awkward and not useful but it held a queen bed reasonably well. Four people max. Five people would be very uncomfortable. I'll keep it for a few years, but the only thing keeping me from replacing it is the fact that it's still brand new.

This tent is perfect for two of us with an air mattress and lots of stuff. It gives us enough space to still move around even with 2 suitcases each plus a queen air mattress. It would be nice if the one shorter pole was marked or a different color for easier setup, but we put some tape on it ourselves. Overall a great basic tent!

Camped in this tent this summer. No rain yet. Easy set up and take down. Buy some good tent stakes as the ones in this unit cannot be driven into dry, hard earth.

2.0 out of 5 stars Leaks at door. Try a different design., August 17, 2010

Our first night in the tent was great. We had enough room for a full size air matress and two children size matresses. We also had enough room for our large dog. On the second night, we had rain. The tent leaked around the door causing quite a flood. What a disappointment. Then when taking the tent down, the bag for the stakes tore. We have no choice to take this tent on our family vacation this weekend. We bought a tarp to try and cover the door in the event of rain. I recommend trying a different design if looking for a tent.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fits our needs, November 1, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Wenzel Big Bend 12-by-10 Foot Five-Person Two-Room Family Dome Tent (Sports)
Purchased this tent for my nephew going on his first campout with the scouts. His mom was also going and they were car camping so I picked a few tents I thought seemed good based on size, set up ease, and height. I hate short tents that you have to crawl into and knew my sister-in-law would feel the same way. Long story short, this tent fit our needs. He picked it because he liked the color and he thought it looked cool. He also liked that it had a privacy curtain since he'd be camping with his mom. Tent came quickly and we set it up right away. The reason I did not give 5 stars is that I'm a little concerned with the plastic piece that all the tent poles fit into to raise the tent. If that plastic piece brakes, I'm not sure what will will happen to the tent integrity. We sealed all the seams and I was impressed with the ventilation in the tent. The rainfly seems to be adequate as well.

My nephew and I put the tent back in its carry bag without much hassle. When he got to his camp, he was able to set up the tent and rainfly with little help from his mom. Everyone was very impressed that he could do it almost by himself and it was his first time camping. I also got him a tarp footprint to be on the safeside. He's very proud of his tent and it worked for their purposes. It was not especially windy but my sister-in-law said it did not sway or move much with all the tie downs. She said they had plenty of room for another cot and their gear. I think it would be hard to fit 5 people unless they were sleeping in the exact configuration listed on the bag.
