This review is from: Wenzel Full Size Insta-Bed Airbed with Built-In Pump (Blue) (Sports)
After reading the other reviews, I felt this product was worth a try. Having owned the Eddie Bauer and Aerobed Sport I can tell you from experience that all of these "air beds" are good for about 6 months of regular use at the most. Having worked in the plastic industry for 6 years I can also assure you that the construction of this bed is thin and especially cheaply made.
The bed lasted me a whole 5 days, and the pump is still battery operated and especially slow. Maybe I got a defective product but after reading the other reviews I felt inspired to provide a different viewpoint. Bad back suffers like me; this bed is not a long-term choice. Look for an airbed with a thick construction for durability and the ease of an electric pump. Or if you have the money invest in a thick Tempur-Pedic pad or mattress. You save in the long term Buyers looking for something for the occasional sleepover guests, especially the ones you don't want to spend too much on, this bed is a great solution. The Eddie Bauer model and Aerobed models have improved over the last few years, and while still not a perfect long-term solution, offers a better return on investment

Insta-Bed Durable, Comfortable,
This review is from: Wenzel Full Size Insta-Bed Airbed with Built-In Pump (Blue) (Sports)
I've been 'camping out' in a friend's vacant apartment for four months while my own place is being renovated. I've been sleeping on the Wenzel Insta-Bed the entire time, and have found it to be VERY comfortable, durable (I'm heavy, and I also have two cats with some serious claws!), and an excellent value.
Interestingly, in getting used to the floor-level sleeping, I supplemented it with a Coleman product, which had to be replaced after a month due to leaking or deflation. I bought a second Coleman (bad decision), and the same thing happened. Fortunately by now I'm agile enough to get up and down from the floor level Insta-Bed, and I just pitched out the second Coleman. The Insta-Bed is a really good, durable, comfortable product!

Great bed for the money!,
This review is from: Wenzel Full Size Insta-Bed Airbed with Built-In Pump (Blue) (Sports)
The bed itself seems quite durable and hopefully will last me many years. I love the built-in pump feature. Add 4 D batteries and turn it on; it inflates the bed in about 8 seconds, so it uses very little time and battery life. Can also be used for deflation. The pump is integrated flush with the side of the bed, so it's not in the way. Yes, it's kind of loud, but it's only on for a few seconds, which is better than a hand pump or hair dryer by far.
I haven't quite figured out the foot pump (at the opposite side of the battery pump). It's supposed to "fine tune" your firmness or increase the pressure when it loses some air. (Actually, it's not losing air, it is merely stretching the fabric and increase its volume, which needs to be replaced to maintain the same pressure. This usually stops after a few uses/days). Anyway, the foot pump thingy doesn't seem to do a whole lot. Overall I am very happy with this bed.
