Product Description

Looking for a family camping tent that is more than just the basic box shape with a rainfly? Do you need a tent that allows you to power your modern conveniences without having to leave the door open for bugs and weather to come in? Look no further than the Wenzel Montreaux then, it has everything you need and more. The Montreaux has two side rooms with divider curtains for extra storage and a sewn-in room divider that creates two distinct living areas. The E-Port allows you to run electrical cords into the tent, allowing you to power all of your electronic devices, so that you don't have them coming through the door--removing tripping hazards. Set up is easy with the pin and ring system and plastic eve hubs. Once set up, ventilation won't be an issue with the full mesh ceiling and side and rear windows. Water-resistant, sonic welded polyethylene floor and factory taped fly seams keeps the weather out and you dry and comfortable inside. Also, the truncated corners give the tent added stability in adverse weather conditions.

I would give it zero stars if I could.

I might be weird, but I don't like bugs, and I tend to want to keep the door zipped, but have the window on the door open.

Last season we had a bad rain storm...it held up great and we stayed dry on the inside.

This will be our 3rd year with this tent...see our photos...
Very large, we have a elevated double bed and two totes next to bed for night stands...
the closets are very big...one we use for a closet and the other we use as a restroom...
living room we put 2 zero gravity chairs with a tote between them and a card table.
Last season we had a bad rain storm...it held up great and we stayed dry on the inside.
Looking forward to summer so we can get back out in nature.
We have been very pleased!!!

(RATING) I've owned this tent for more than 2 years now, and even though I'm rating it 5 stars, I do have a problem with tent design in general. This tent was originally designed and produced by Swiss Gear, and in late 2011/early 2012 they sold the design to Wenzel. If I was rating this tent on general tent design, I would give it a 3.

(SPACE) This tent is well built (good materials), very big, easy to set up, well ventilated, and we all sleep very well. I'm 6'7" and my head doesn't touch the ceiling when I'm standing inside. I must emphasize how rare this is. If you have the included room dividers installed, this is a 4 room tent, but with the room dividers up, the two "side" rooms are very small. However, they could still easily hold two children each, so if you have a family with small kids, this makes it perfect.

(SIZE) The main room divider is sewn into the tent and cannot be removed. The tent does have tie-backs for this divider. The two dividers for the side rooms are removable, and we didn't even use them since it made the rooms too small. We had two people each in the side rooms with heads under windows and feet shooting toward the middle of the tent. Between the feet of these four people there was a queen size air mattress. This tent is very big. This still left the entrance room completely empty, which could easily hold 3 people in sleep bags or a king size air mattress. In my opinion, this tent will very comfortably sleep 9 people and 10 or more, tightly. I say this because we all know that tents usually exaggerate the number of people that can sleep comfortably.

(FLOOR) The biggest positive I have for this tent is the floor. This is the 2nd tent designed by Swiss Gear that I've purchased, and both floors have been exceptional.

This tent is a good tent, and i'm happy with it. the reason i have only given it 3 stars is because it could have been much better with very little added.

I would guess this is the exact same as the Swiss Gear tent of the same name, with different colors, which means Wenzel paid for the use of the design. In my opinion that transaction should have included rights to fix the things that people disliked about the original, and those modifications should have been made: -1 star

since they didn't bother to fix the problems, it loses its second star for lacking all the small things cheaper tents have that make them more convenient.

- there aren't any ties for the windows, just a pouch thing they are meant to be stuffed in, this means wind bows them since there is no tie at the top, and they fall out of the pouch without the one at the bottom.

- i personally don't like the door's zipper configuration, this door is made up of 2 zippers, one at the base and one that does the top, i much prefer the full door dual zipper configuration so i can put the zippers wherever i want, for whatever reason.

-This tent does not come with "quick-clips" for the sides, so the walls move around more than on a tent with them.

-the above quick clip issue could be solved by adding more guy-wires, which i feel the tent needs anyways. it only has 4, and they aren't enough to keep the fly tout like it should be, IMO.

- there should be at least one stakeout point added to the back of the tent.

- i wish the eave-hubs were attached to the tent, i'm bound to lose one someday...

all these things fixed would have added no more than $10, maybe 15 to the production cost, and so it annoys me.

I bought this tent 2 summers ago. It has been used 4 times. Twice per year. I have been fortunate to have great weather, little to no rain so I cant speak on harsh rains. Although it did hold up to a small shower. No leaks. I'm a bit paranoid so I did seal it this week and spay the fly trap. I like the color and the floor plan. I honestly don't believe this to be a 10 person tent. I use one side for a bathroom area for my porta potty/change area. The other half is used for storage of our bags etc. I also have a queen size bed and 2 end tables. I do not like to feel cramped so there's not much more I want to put in it. I do have a folding table near the door of the tent for my fans or electrical equipment. I do wish there was more of an awning and a place for shoes on the bottom. Overall I am pleased with this tent. Not bad for the price since the Swiss Gear was sold out when I was needing to purchase it. On the flip side, the bottom is a bit thin. I had to camp in a State Pk, which had gravel for the ground. This was a first for me. But even with the tarp down it did put a tiny hole in the bottom of my tent. Well no worries, there's nothing like duct tape. Taped it from underneath. As I am typing this, my husband is having a good laugh at my expense. I am not an outdoor person and yes many of you may think that this is not really camping but luxury. I don't care. It's what got me in the outdoors. I will say the directions were a bit confusing but I do like that its sewed into the bag. I have teenage kids and they loose everything. I also like the fact that my family fits easy in it seeing as they are giants. My son in 6'3 and he has no problem. Anyway for a generic of the Swiss Gear Montreaux tent I am very pleased.
