This ratchet is SMALL. It measures just under 3.5" long overall and the head is .7" wide and .5" thick. A very clean forging it appears and very well finished.

The small size does reduce the chance of damaging bits or screw heads when using smaller bits but it seems small for use with things such as #3 Philips bits or 6mm hex bits. Very nice within it's size limits which seem to be aimed at use with smaller size bits that require limited drive force. I could be mistaken but the size makes me wonder about the ultimate strength of the ratchet and I did not see any specified torque limit specified in the listing.

It holds Wera type 1 bits best, the 1" long ones with the 6 notches on the shank about 1/3" above the base. Type 4 bits with the sub diameter ring machined into the bit near the base have some end play when installed in the bit holder.

this ratchet is tiny, which is perfect for what i wanted. being wera, it is very well engineered. my only grip is that i wish i had known it was made in taiwan. not that there is anything inherently wrong with that, but for the price, i would liked to have known before i saw it on the packaging.

It is small, but very well made. It does the job it was designed for very well for me. It is a must have tool for tight, precise work. The extra torque I get from this over a standard screw-driver is very useful, but be careful not to strip out the fastener or you may need more tools than you had planned on. I plan on buying another one to keep in the house. It is a little pricey, but I have never regretted buying quality tools.

Though wera name is great but I was a little disappointed in what I saw that it was made in Taiwan or China because this company is out of Germany it is so sad but it is a great little tool and it works great and it was not very expensive and again wasting no gas sitting in my nice comfy seat at my computer purchasing it on Amazon and getting it delivered to my home what a wonderful thing. And also very efficient and productive.

I am an engineer and was looking for an alternative to my Chapman set so that I could use my Wiha bits. It is excellent for this purpose. It is a very high quality, solid tool that will last a lifetime. The bits fit tight and it is a great ratchet that fits your hand like a glove. I have no idea why other reviewers say that its made in Taiwan. Maybe because it is written in German that it is made in Germany. I highly recommend this tool to anyone and it is well worth the price.

All of the above

It has a free spin wheel so you can quickly ratchet a fastener in place with thumb or finger

Very solid build, quite small yet feels ok for grip, fits in your palm nicely to reach very limited areas as long as your hand fits, this wrench can get at tight spots

I should have got this tool years ago

I like high quality tools, included is a tiny square socket adapter very handy also

The only "Con" I have for this product is the handle. It is tapered towards the end of the tool and has a smooth finish. In some areas the very end of the tool is the only thing you can wrap a finger around. It would be better if they went away from the traditional Wera shaped grip or at least put a small bulb as the end of the tool so it'd be more difficult for your finger to slip off of. With that being said there is a very easy work around for this... grab some shrink tubing and turn it into a rubberized grip.

Notice I didn't deduct any stars... I feel it'd be foolish to do so.

This tool is compact, durable and has excellent resolution.

If there is a better one for these 3 criteria please let me know... honestly, I stopped looking.

This little ratchet will impress you form the moment you open the envelope. I expected it to be a "lightweight", but definitely is NOT. The size of it and the fine tooth mechanism makes it perfect for limited working areas. I bought this as a compliment to one of Wera's bit sets and both function flawlessly. I do own other 1/4" drive ratchets, but they do not compare in terms of quality to this one. If you do not mind spending a little extra money for a superior-grade ratchet, then I highly recommend this one -- you will not be disappointed. GJM
