The 'Reign in Blood' of punk,
This review is from: We're All Doomed (Audio CD)
You heard me right. The only other album that comes close to the pure hatered, aggression, speed, and heaviness of 'We're All Doomed' is Slayer's epic album, 'Reign in Blood'. It lacks the leads of King and Hanneman and the drum technicality of Lombardo, but makes up for these deficiencies with blast beats and arguably more aggressive vocals. From the first track to the last, you will experience aural obliteration like no punk band before (and probably after, until TN's new album comes out) has unleashed. To all you metalheads out there who think that punk rock is all about A.F.I., give this album a listen. You WILL be pleasantly suprised.

If you have never heard Toxic Narcotic, I pity your poor worthless weakling poser soul. Toxic Narcotic are without a doubt one of the best crust/hardcore/thrash/punk bands in existence. For the past fifteen years, TN has given fans of hardcore what they wanted: angry, violent, and relentless music without pity or backing down. With songs about drinking, murder, the disgrace the human race is, hypocracy and hate, TN gives punk fans their money's worth, and other bands a real challange. Brutally honest and fast that is not recommended for the faithful, weak at heart, emo kids, and mankind loving people.5 Billion People Must Die!

Something different,

Toxic Narcotic proved something that a lot of bands need to take a hint from. You can play hardcore punk, even more hardcore than most, make your points, be political, and STILL not take yourselves too seriously. Toxic Narcotic have two subjects that they make music about, and it's a really humorous combination to be honest: Politics and drinking.
Musically, this band is frantic, insane, loud, heavy, fast, blistering, etc etc etc. This is the only band I know where the drummer is the highlight musician in the band. He is literally insane. He beats the living crap out of his drum kit and seemingly never stops. He combines double bass pedals and chaotic snare beating and occasionally the most spread out bit, and then before you can get used to it he changes up again. The result is that the music is always fast but it's never monotone because it's so unpredictable. Now, this doesn't mean that every track sounds the same, because honestly, most of them do. It's the crazy fast crazy simple guitar bits that wrap around these drums to complete the sound, and the bass isn't heard all that much. Lyrically, this CD is almost humorous. The vocalist has a vicious scream slash battle cry that powers every track, but what's also good is that almost every word is perfectly comprehensible after a listen or two. His final conclusion; we're all going to kill each other as humans, so we should forget about our problems and get drunk. Indeed the reoccurring theme is a breath of fresh air because it shows how you can be heavy, loud, and fast without being dismal. On a few songs like "I'm So Thirsty" and "We're Not Happy Till You're Not Happy" I actually laughed out loud in my car when I heard some of the lyrics the first time. My girlfriend said to me "This band is ridiculous" and that's true, but that's not a bad thing. So I say thumbs up, I am all for this heavy, fast, ridiculous band, and I recommend them to fans of hardcore punk and thrash.

Incredible Boston harcore band that blends mega-fast american hardcore, and grindcorish crust complete with gruffed vocals, blazing guitars and a super fat bass sound. The drumming is unreal and the breaks are amazing. It's incredible that they can slow down for some seconds and then pick up that frantic pace in the blink of an eye!! These dudes are so tight it squeaks !!! Only 30'long but it's more than your ears will be able to take if you like it loud ( the only way to play this, BTW). The lyrics are VERY hard, commited anarcho-politico-ecological but realistic in some sort of very pesimistic way.CONS ? A tad repetitive for my taste. There's a 21st Century Discography cd released by an independent company that includes this cd with more recent tracks from singles and eps, some of which pick up reggae influences in a tasteful, hard way, and it's been remastered by the singer; only real bummer that one doesn't include any lyrics with the booklet. The sound on this cd is very good. If you like this one you really should pick up these guys DVD. It's awesome and dirt-cheap to boot !!!
