Editorial Reviews

Fantastic CD jam-packed with 31 tracks of Saturday morning fun! Features tracks from The Banana Splits and The Beagles cartoons. Find out why REM's Michael Stipe cites the Banana Splits as a "bigger influence on me than the Beatles." One track actually was co-written by Barry White. Yes, THAT Barry White. Tracks: Tra-La-La Song (One Banana Two Banana), We're the Banana Splits, I'm Gonna Find a Cave, This Spot, Doin' the Banana, Wait 'til Tomorrow, You're the Lovin' End, Toy Piano Melody, In New Orleans, Two-Ton Tessie, Long Live Love, Don't Go Away Go-Go Girl, It's a Good Day for a Parade, Pretty Painted Carousel, I Enjoy Being a Boy, The Tra-La-La Song (alt version), Looking for the Beagles, Sharing Wishes, I'd Join the Foreign Legion, What More Can I Do?, Be the Captain, Humpty Dumpty, Thanks to the Man in the Moon, I Wanna Capture You, Indian Love Dance, You Satisfy, That's the Pretty Part of You, The Very First Kid on My Block, The Beautiful Calliope, Let Me Remember You Smiling, Soul.

4.0 out of 5 stars WOW , The Banana Splits CD, May 10, 2010
This review is from: We're the Banana Splits / Here Come the Beagles (Audio CD)
I was shopping online and I can't believe I came across this cd. When I got it I played it and I could not believe this is the original songs and music for 1960's The Banana Splits Show. As a couple of the other reviews reads there are a couple of songs missing, but most of them are on this cd and they sound great and boy does this cd bring back memories. I gave this cd only 4 stars because of the missing songs. CD comes in case with cool artwork on it.

3.0 out of 5 stars A fair compilation, Sadly not all the songs, August 1, 2008
This review is from: We're the Banana Splits / Here Come the Beagles (Audio CD)
I was so happy when this was released - Finally, I can upgrade from my Decca record, or so I thought. But, come to find out two of my favorite songs Adam Had 'Em & I'd Be A Millionare are NOT on it! I'm a bit miffed. But what songs are on it are good, they just should have released the ENTIRE compilation of music done under the Banana Split label.

For those who loved watching The Banana Splits, hearing the music brings back good memories.

Notice one song I liked was missing: Adam Had 'Em. Would've also been nice to include the catchy tune when the Sour Grapes' "Charlie" came to deliver a message to the Banana Splits.

All that aside, the CD contains the classics: Gonna Find a Cave, You're the Loving End, and of course Tra La La. Glad to add it to my library.
