3.0 out of 5 stars Skinny Rich and Happy
The book was more worn than I expected based on the written description. I've not yet read this book. It is one of several items that I ordered and still have to get through a couple of other books first.

This review is from: If How To's Were Enough, We Would All Be Skinny, Rich and Happy (Paperback)
Brian Klemmer states that the fairest way to gauge anything is by its results: often harsh, but always fair. Judging by the thousands of people that he has coached over the years, his concepts must work!

His book is as insightful and engaging as any other personal growth book I have read. The concepts he addresses, such as Resentment, Responsibility, Win-Win, etc. are practical and applicable- from family life to corporate culture.

What seperates Klemmer's book from others in the field are two key points:

1) He stresses the importance of experiential learning verses motivational or how-to work. The core of his philosophy centers on the premise that 99% of the decisions we make we do NOT make... our paradigms (or subconcious belief systems) make for us. By discovering these paradigms, we are able to take control of our decision making and thus grow in our personal power.

2) He discusses how to create results regardless of circumstances. This is extremely important because he provides readers with the necessary tools to create abundance despite the challenges and obstables of life.

I reread this book almost weekly, with earmarks and highlighted sections marking my copy. He stresses how self-improvement and personal growth not only helps you to create abundance in your own life, but also how you can create abundance in the lives of others. As he says in his book, he is about creating "A world that works for everyone, with no one left out!"

Anyone who is stuck in his (or her) life, not making the progress he would like, should incorporate these concepts. Brian gave me the tools that I needed. Not only have I made exponential progress, but my husband is so pleased with his "new" wife that he is going to the next level, too. ANYONE,(yes, I mean you!) can take this book and find what is holding him back and ZOOM ahead. Brian is a master teacher!

5.0 out of 5 stars Thinking & Creating, June 5, 2001
This review is from: If How To's Were Enough, We Would All Be Skinny, Rich and Happy (Paperback)
In Brian Klemmer's book, "If How To's Were Enough, We'd All Be Skinny, Rich, & Happy" the emphasis is in changing your thinking. We don't do what we're told to do....if we did we would not have a difficult time staying healthy or meeting sales quotas in our business. According to Brian Klemmer, we only do what our fundamental beliefs and thoughts about life tell us to do. The real question is, are those beliefs serving you in what you say you want in your life? If your answer is "no", pick up this book and explore what may be holding you back. It may be something you don't even know is holding you back, but will discover about yourself in the course of reading this book. My results of living the philosophies found in "If How To's Were Enough, We'd All Be Skinny Rich & Happy" have been tremendous. I believe in myself at a much higher level, I am more effective in communicating with everyone I come into contact with, my relationships are more sincere and loving, I'm more successful in my business, and I feel like I'm making a bigger difference in my home, my community and the world. I know that people don't usually do what they're told, but I'm going to tell you this one thing....READ THIS BOOK! It will make a huge difference in your life and the lives of those around you.

5.0 out of 5 stars Making positive changes that last..., June 12, 2001

This review is from: If How To's Were Enough, We Would All Be Skinny, Rich and Happy (Paperback)
Brian Klemmer's book, along with his teachings, has allowed me to discover the subconscious beliefs that I didn't know I had that were stopping me from being as successful as I knew I could be, having a great relationship, and having more of what I wanted in life. I now make conscious choices about what direction my life is taking instead of letting my old programs run me. I have learned how to communicate more effectively and from the heart with all personality types, where I wasn't even aware before that people needed to hear things differently in order to understand what I was saying. I now focus on solutions and how to get things done instead of letting the problem stop me -- I am successful regardless of circumstances. I am taking bigger risks, setting higher goals and being more creative after breaking through my fear of success and fear of failure.

This is a must read for ANYONE that wants more out of life and doesn't know why they haven't been able to create the life, marriage or business they say they want.

This book led me to the Klemmer seminars-the book itself is a compendium of philosophy, attitude adjustment and compassion. It is a recipe for success in business, in relationships, in life itself. My life has been impacted beyond words by what I have learned here and in Brians seminars. I had read all the gurus of greatness, without much in the way of results, and after using what I learned here, began to experience the life changes I wanted so badly within days of applying Brians principles. Brian You ARE the greatest ! !

5.0 out of 5 stars Review on a GREAT BOOK!, June 27, 2001
By
Steve Shelley (Seattle, WA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: If How To's Were Enough, We Would All Be Skinny, Rich and Happy (Paperback)
Brian Klemmer is an outstanding and remarkable man. As he says in his book, he is about creating "A world that works for everyone, with no one left out!" He expertly composed in 120 easy-to-read pages what other authors have taken hundreds of pages to cover.

You've heard it said that a picture paints a thousand words well Brian has interlaced a number of thought provoking pictures in his work. He indelibly transfers his life-changing concepts into the hearts and minds of the involved reader. This subject material, especially the way it is arranged in this book, not only challenged me, it changed the way I embrace life and resolve issues.

As an active reader and presenter of self-help concepts, this is one of the clearest, most effective self-help books I've read.

This is absolutely a must read!

Steve Shelley

5.0 out of 5 stars Read and apply the BEST and you may not have to read the REST!, October 25, 2009
By
As a a benefactor and advocate of personal, career and business development resources for double digit years, not to mention that I have a well used library of my own, plus have what I consider to be a very successful life to show for it, I can, God as my witness, and I do not take God lightly, enthusiastically recommend " If How-To's Were Enough We Would All Be Skinny, Rich and Happy " by Brian Klemmer.

As a matter of fact in many trainings, key note talks, one on one coaching sessions, leadership development lectures, seminars and or workshops I have used this book as a hand out in addition to recommending it countless times. In one specific organization my recommendation led to many leaders working with Brian and his company for many workshops and events.

In short if you Read and apply the BEST you may not have to read the rest!

5.0 out of 5 stars Making Changes That Last, November 22, 2000
This review is from: If How To's Were Enough, We Would All Be Skinny, Rich and Happy (Paperback)
I have read and re-read this book several times and each time I get some new insight into who I am and how I can change for the better. It deals with some of the basic principals of how our programs and the glasses we view the world through empact our lives. It documents how once we are aware of these programs that run our every action/re-actions and our relationships we are better prepared to understand and make changes in our lives.

This is a must read book for anyone that wants to truely understand and make long lasting positive changes in their life.
