5.0 out of 5 stars Probably the "essential" halo 15
Ok, we have the excellent, unedited version of We're In This Together, as well as two Fragile non-cd tracks, 10 Miles High and The New Flesh.
10 Miles High is overall creepy, with ditorted vocals and dire music, but hey, this IS NIN after all. Remeber the ending of the Mark Has Been Made on the Fragile? Well, that's how this song starts out.
Like 10MH, The New...

3.0 out of 5 stars A good single, but was it necessary?
Well, whatever part you want to call it, since Amazon can't seem to get the numbering scheme right, I'm reviewing the WITT single with We're In This Together, 10 Miles High and The New Flesh. This is a good single, albeit a bit pricey, but if you want to own every NIN song out there on CD format, this is a must. The first track is We're In This together, LP version...

Like 10MH, The New Flesh is very creepy, with layers of sounds and vocals, then with a nice outro for a great rock riff to start. A nice b-side, without a doubt.
So, if you don't on the vinyl version of the Fragile, this is highly recomonded just for the two songs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Five stars and a reason why, February 26, 2002
By
This review is from: We're in This Together 1 / New Flesh / 10 Miles (Audio CD)
Let's be clear. Those not wishing to own every Nine Inch Nails release out there may not want to shell out $12 for an import. Yet, since "We're In This Together" was not released state-side as a single (excepting the radio single which is rare and which I own), it would seem aside from owning "The Fragile" (which you should), here is the best way to own the full version of "WITT".

Now, this is all discounting the fact that this single, with the other two 'parts', are what make the official Halo Fifteen. And if you're out there to collect all official halos and whatever else Trent Reznor puts out, why WOULDN'T you pay $12?

The tracks "10 Miles High" and "The New Flesh" were included only on the vinyl edition of "The Fragile" (and I'd like to note that this is not a marketing ploy; Reznor explains that the added and subtracted tracks for CD, vinyl, and cassette editions were for continuity, and if you've ever listened to both the Left and Right sides at the same time, you'll know why).

I rate this single separately from the other two parts of Halo Fifteen, and I give it five stars for one simple reason. Not the price. Not the length. Not any imaginary marketing ploy. I rate it for reasons albums and singles should be rated: All three songs are good. Simply put, but with a large proceeding explanation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome single, May 19, 2000

I have all three We're In This Together singles, and this is my favorite of the three. We're In This Together is a good song from The Fragile, and The New Flesh is an OK song, but this CD is worth the price for 10 Miles High, which is one of Trent's best B-Sides. If it sounds familiar, it's set to the tune of The Mark Has Been Made off of the Fragile, and it would've fit in nicely with the rest of the album if it was included.

4.0 out of 5 stars The first person to review this CD....., January 7, 2000
This review is from: We're in This Together 1 / New Flesh / 10 Miles (Audio CD)
.... is reviewing the wrong part. Part 1 has WITT and 2 versions of THE DAY THE WORLD WENT AWAY. It's not really worth it, but if you collect al the halo's get it. Quiet Version of TDTWWA is the best.

This little pearl should not be ignored. The trilogy is great, together or apart. Don't miss out or you'll be sorry.

The first track is We're In This together, LP version. This means if you've heard it on the radio, but no where else, you're missing out on a wicked guitar part and an extremely moving piano outro. At around 7:45, this is one of NIN's best, and longest songs around. Track 2 is 10 Miles High, which was previously only found on the Fragile vinyl, after The Mark Has Been Made and before Please. It starts off very quietly, with guitars gradually building up to the chorus, then back to whispers, then to the chorus again. Another solid NIN song, that in my opinion need not have been deleted from The Fragile CD, unless it was to solely make this single. The same goes for The New Flesh, which is a near-instrumental track, much in the vein of Eraser, with lyrics near the end of the track hidden under layers of noise. If you've been to a recent NIN concert, they're known to open the concert with this song, especially on the Fragility 2.0 tour.

I have to gripes about this single, although they're not really about the single itself. Both CDs had enough room for the deleted tracks, so it seems like this single is merely a ploy to sell more NIN products because, let's face it, NIN fans like me HAVE to own every Halo. If they make it, we will buy it. Case in point. Gripe #2 is that this CD set was SUPPOSED to have one of the singles packed in a three-CD digipack case, similar to The Fragile or the UK versions of MOTP and Closer, except with three slots. Obviously, this didn't happen. Wouldn't that have been cool?

So, if you're a NIN fan like me, you're going to want to get this. It's pricey, and really not necessary, but hey, you could buy worse. You could get Part 3.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Bonus Tracks..., June 4, 2008
This review is from: We're in This Together 1 / New Flesh / 10 Miles (Audio CD)
Really the only reason to buy this is for the two bonus tracks that are not on the album of The Fragile, unless you buy the triple vinyl, which I might add is well worth it.

So, yeah, for a collector, no for a casual fan on this one.

In my last review, I stated that this CD contains the Perfect Drug; so many other NIN singles nowadays have it as a track, I got confused. It actually contains We're In This Together.

I liked this single a bit. We're in this together is a great song, and the Quiet version of The Day the World Went Away is better than the original in my opinion. But one of the previous reviewers comments about the Porter Ricks mix of TDTWWA is right... its a joke, a crappy song. I'd recommend this to a big NIN fan. i wish they put all 3 on one 9 track cd... i also dont see why they put so much TDTWWA on this single. i believe that should have gone on Halo 13 (and the quiet version is there).
