4.0 out of 5 stars Standing On Very Thin Wire
When I first heard Rory on the Spill Canvas extra cd,I though "Alright. A decent band picking up on Matchbook Romance and Brand New's first ablums". But after listening to the cd,I got a slightly immature vibe Brand New and Matchbook Romance never played off of. The majority of Rory's songs a very good, but certain harmonies echo Matchbook Roimance more than I'd like. And...

I was more impressed with the non musical aspects of this album. The colorful album booklet has very artistic presentations of the lyrics. Several song titles themselves are entertaining, like "Tonight I Just Don't Care, I'm Having A Candy Dinner.". That track and "Doin' Lines of Conga" are the best tracks on the album. And the center tracks of the album (being Doing the Lines of Conga, Tonight I just Don't Care, I'm Having a Candy Dinner, The Adventures of Me and Me) remind me more of the manufactured Simple Plan than the old Brand New. the song 'it's on senor...go!' has a lyrical essence of The Starting Line. I wish that they would've don't a bit more lead guitar, but other than that, Rory is quite talented, and sweet to the ears.

It is definately worth the purchase, having 7 out of 12 decent tracks in all.

It's not so much the music is bad, just there's so much other good stuff out there.
