Editorial Reviews

From Library Journal

Little is a person with a disability (PWD) living a productive and independent life. She has been confined to a wheelchair since she had polio at age 13; she and her family fought for her education (including bachelor's and master's degrees in journalism) and encouraged her to be active. Her jobs have included designing rehabilitation equipment, marketing, and working as an officer of RESNA (Rehabilitation Engineering Society of North America). Little believes the real heroes to PWDs are those she has worked with who have fought to provide them with access to the resources, technology, and rights needed to reach their individual goals. Her book provides an important perspective on issues related to PWDs and the laws and agencies that are supposed to be helping them. Recommended for all libraries.?Linda L.
