First book by Clemence Housman, a British writer. It was composed to amuse Housman fellow students. This is not a hastily horror story, but a work of art of some beauty. The tale takes place in a Nordic land.

Beautifully done, but short!,
This review is from: The Werewolf (Paperback)
Read this online at Bibliomania, it's surprisingly good. Without going into too much detail, the story follows a few members of a family who encounter a strange woman, who one of the family thinks is a werewolf. Rather than the cliche murder-mystery sort of evidence-hunting that typically goes on in young adult fiction, this is a story of intense moral and psychological anguish. The only complaint that I could possibly make is that the story is a very short one, but the length is perfect for the chosen plot and none of the characters suffer from lack of depth in spite of its brevity.
