Book Description

Book #1 in the Werewolf Love Story Series

It is 2006 (five years before Vampire Love Story), and Tommy is training hard before his second mixed martial arts match. On a random night he runs across a sexy, mysterious woman named Sasha. Sasha turns Tommy's life upside down and out of control. On a chance encounter, Tommy befriends a vampire named Patrick. Both Patrick and Sasha change everything Tommy has ever known to be true.

Luckily, Tommy meets Maya, the woman of his dreams, and is able to make sense of his new reality. A young Josiah Reign befriends Tommy along the way, and Tommy has to inevitably face his true destiny of becoming a werewolf. Will Tommy choose his destiny, or become something no one had ever thought possible?

3.0 out of 5 stars werewolf love story July 28, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This is an interesting short. While not my typical genre preference, I certainly found this to be a fast paced read that was (given genre) overall plausible.

Tommy is a cage type fighter (sorry if wrong term) who is just starting his professional career. He touts himself a bit of a ladies man and he meets a gal that alters the course of his life. I am really gonna have to tell my son no one night stands ;) The one night turns out to become another encounter (unrelated to sex) when she is desperate enough to call him late one night (or early am) to pick her up. Tommy apparently was taught manners and to help damsels in distress. He goes to get her. In the course of picking her up, he is attacked by a few fellas and he becomes injured the day of a big fight. This injury has some pretty huge consequences. I am trying hard (even though much is evident based in title and cover) NOT to give spoilers. So, I can only really say that much related to specifics. I really liked the Josiah character. Though, I must say, that particular meeting bit seemed a bit contrived in order to get moving toward the Maya connection. Not ill fitting - perhaps a bit convenient is better way to put it.

Some of the dialogue was great, some was just not fully there (to this reader). I found the characters were fairly well fleshed. Even for genre, I felt the devices were (in some cases) overdone. Almost as if a couple devices (Josiah meeting is one example) could have been left off for next in series as it (after a point) just seemed too much action events (versus showing depth to arc or character development) .

I marked 19 locations with errors related to grammar and punctuation. That is really too many in a work this short.

I suspect many will enjoy this short and I think the short (even for things I cited) is a pretty good advert to readers for buying at least one installment to get feel. The writer is definitely creative and can create some vivid imagery for sure. I would have awarded one more star were it not for the editing errors and the other issues I felt made this a bit overdone in some spots.

As the book says, this is part one. What this means, is that even though this is a smallish side of standard book length, it is really only half of a book. Read more

I don't like it when books stop in the middle of the story. Rather commit as a writer and write one book and finish it. Read more
