I found out about Detektivbyran through a feed in my Google Reader. A video from there YouTube page was posted and I thought "This should be interesting. 3 guys around a xylophone, keyboard, drums. The keyboardist with accordion at the ready."

I clicked play and fell in love with the sound. It's like electro-folk, pop music. It's got a very European sound to it. Semi-carnival sounding. But it's just catchy! Some of it sounds like a Final Fantasy composition as well.

I almost wish it had some vocals but it's excellent background music for work or just around the house.

You'll find yourself humming the tunes. Get it!

I stumbled across this band on YouTube for some inexplicable reason, but ended up captivated by the music. The music's folk roots are evident, but woven with elements of pop/rock/jazz with a pinch of techno thrown in for good measure. These guys are creative and generate some amazing sounds.

Someone once said a gentleman is a man who knows how to play the accordian, but doesn't. If Detektivbyrån keeps this up you're going to see a resurgence of accordian players!

This cd is incredible. Literally, incredible. I have no idea how they're able to construct such beautiful songs! Every song is like a work of art in itself and it seriously makes me feel like I'm in another world while listening to it.
