5.0 out of 5 stars Just what you are looking for!, October 4, 2001

This review is from: Werner 7308 375-Pound Duty Rating Type IAA Fiberglass Stepladder, 8-Foot (Tools & Home Improvement)
Tired of flimsy ladders that make you wonder whether you are going to fall off at the first shift in your hips? This is sturdiness at a top level. It is tall, in an 8ft room it comes right to the ceiling, so if you want it for interior work, you might want to think about the 6ft ladder. But it is a great height for putting in windows and outside work! Great product.

This is one wellbuilt stepladder...But you don't have to be a pro to own one of these sturdy babys...After having a (homeowners type111) ladder fold-up under me 15 years ago...I have only bought the best since...The 5 foot height is perfect for changing light fixtures on 8 foot ceilings...Great for electrical and any other work...Can't go wrong buying one of these.

5.0 out of 5 stars Never Go Back, March 22, 2003

This ladder is exceptionally sturdy and stable. Compared to other ladders I have owned, the difference is like night and day - the stability allows you to spend much more time working than moving the ladder (because others are too unstable to allow for anything else but about a four foot work window). While it may seem pricey versus other ladders, it is well worth the extra money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sturdy and Practical, January 23, 2006

This review is from: Werner 7308 375-Pound Duty Rating Type IAA Fiberglass Stepladder, 8-Foot (Tools & Home Improvement)
When the bid came in at close to $1000 to stain the interior of my three season room, I decided that I could do it myself with the help of this ladder and the cost of materials. Glad I made this purchase. Found more than one use for it as I have nine foot ceilings on my first floor. One warning--you do have to carefully pre-plan on how you will move throughout the house so you don't damage anything. I am now thinking about purchasing the Werner six foot ladder to replace my current somewhat flimsy one. Once you experience how safe you feel on a sturdy ladder, it is difficult to use one less secure.

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid, dependable, December 26, 2005

I confess I'm no lightweight, and the prospect of getting up on a flimsy household stepladder with a load of whatever in my arms was a little daunting. So when I went to look for a new one (The old one finally fell apart after years of heavy use, twisting sideways on an uneven floor as I reached up to hang a drapery rod, and then collapsing entirely.) I looked for the highest rated step-ladder I could find. And I found an amazingly sturdy, stable ladder in the Werner. I don't worry for a moment about standing on it, holding any sort of extra weight. I know that it will stay put and support me and whatever I'm holding.

Unfortunately it does have one drawback. The steps are so high that getting up to the second one without some sort of external support is very difficult. With two bad knees, it's just about impossible. Once you're up, no problem, but getting there is a major pain and I'm often reduced to using a kitchen chair as an intermediate step. I could wish there had been one extra step, or a grab bar at the top. But apart from this, I think the Werner is a superior product for the money.

5.0 out of 5 stars More stable than Type 1A ladders, August 17, 2008
Werner 12-Foot 375-Pound Duty Rating Fiberglass Stepladder #7312

We have a room with a 14' cathedral ceiling, and needed a 12' stepladder to reach the ceiling's peak. I had experience with a Werner model 6312 type 1A (300 lb. rated) stepladder and found it to be wobbly. I weigh 270 lbs. The 7312 type 1AA (375 lb. rated), costs more, but is more stable. No 12' stepladder is going to be "rock-solid", as it would be so heavy, no one would buy it. The 7312 weighs 50 pounds, which makes it practical for an average sized adult to carry and set up. Once opened, when it needs moving, I get directly under it, grab a step on one side and a brace on the other side, and lift the whole thing to move around.

The 7312 is only 3 pounds more than Werner's 300 lb. rated 12' stepladders, so its stability is due to additional bracing, rather than heavier components. The 7312 also has a thick aluminum top cap rather that the plastic top that comes on the cheaper ladders. The top cap has various holes and indentations to hold tools and small parts while you're working. See customer images.

A fiberglass stepladder is a safer choice than aluminum, if you will EVER work around electricity, such as installing an electrical box or lamp.

Other than price, the big negative with any 12' stepladder is finding a dry place to store it. You wouldn't want to leave it outside where it would get dirty; and if it's in the rain, the steel spreader mechanism will eventually rust.

If you can afford the higher cost (over a type 1A ladder), the excellent stability of the 7312 type 1AA will make you soon forget how much you paid.

5.0 out of 5 stars Strong Ladder, December 31, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I am an Electrician and would highly reccommend the 375 LB Werner Ladder. I always buy the 375 heavy duty ladder's they out last lower weight levels by years and are much safer especially for commercial use. Little extra cost but substantially greater value.

I am a large guy and I needed a ladder and Lowes could order the same one for more than twice the price and I could pick it up in the store in 15-21 days! Amazon was better priced and home delivery was within a week. Delivery was an issue as I received notice that I would get it on a Monday. Then I received an email to sign up for a time slot. All time slots were unavailable except for the end of the week!
