Built for Safety and Durability
D6200-2 ladders have a Type IA duty rating, which means they have a load capacity of 300 pounds. Completely dependable, each ladder features slip-resistant Traction-Tred 1-1/2-inch D-rungs that provide a level, comfortable standing surface. And because Werner D6200-2 Series ladders are made with fiberglass non-conductive rails they are recommended for use around electricity.

For durability, this series includes many features, such as the exclusive ALFLO rung joint, rugged gravity spring locks, durable rail shield brackets, shoes with Shu-Lok slip-resistant pad and spur plate, and molded rung braces.

Twist-Proof Connections and Shu-Lok Feet
D6200 Series ladders feature the patented ALFLO rung-to-rail connections that help keep the ladder from twisting during use.

The Shu-Lok slip-resistant pad and spur plate can rest flat or in spur position for soft ground. During setup, the Shu-Lok feature holds each foot in position. This means your hands are free to properly set up the ladder.

Easy to Extend and Separate
Each Werner D6200 Series ladder is easy to extend thanks to external guides at the top of the base section and internal guides on the bottom of the fly section. In addition, the rugged gravity spring locks operate smoothly.

Also, each ladder utilizes a smooth-operating, heavy-duty rope and pulley and features a rope clamp that ties the rope to the rung (the 16-foot model is not equipped with rope and pulley). For further convenience, the base and fly sections separate easily, so you can use the base section as a single ladder.

Hassle-Free Accessory Installation
For further convenience, pre-pierced holes on the rails make for easy field installation of accessories, including Pole Lashes, Cable Hook and V-Rung Assembly, and others. Click here for a full list of Werner Ladder accessories.

Very well made ladder. Very light (for it's size). Extending the ladder is very easy, extension locks never hang up. D-rungs are huge improvement over round designs (I do wish the rungs were a 1/4-1/2" wider.) I shopped around alot before selecting the Werner and I felt they were very high quality construction. It has proven to be very rugged and dependable in use.
Minor cons - The upper extension is located "in front" of lower extension so it is easy to miss the transition rung (I have marked the lowest rung on the upper ladder with red dyechem marking ink as a visual indicator of the transition point to avoid missing the step). Note: All my older ladders are the reverse of this set-up and, I think, this adds to my difficulty with this design.
My only other con is that you must stand on the "inside" (due to above design) to use the extension rope, which makes adjusting the ladder to the correct working height more difficult.
Recommended accessory - Without a doubt the Werner Quik Clip Stablizer is the greatest. The added stability and workspace at the top of the ladder is outstanding. Takes less than 5 seconds to put on or take off. No u-bolts or other attachment methods.

First ladder arrived unpackaged.... banged up with frayed exposed fiberglass in several spots. I refused shipment, wrote Amazon an email about the lack of any protective packaging, and looked forward to a replacement. The replacement ladder arrived again, without packaging, banged up, chipped, and chunks of fiberglass missing. This was the second ladder to arrive without protective packaging.

I was not able to inspect when the driver dropped off the second ladder. Amazon says I can haul a 24' ladder to a place that will ship it and they will replace it. Not easy with a small car, and there is a high probability the third ladder will arrive like the other two.

Stuck with damaged ladder!

I like the solid feel of this ladder, and you can do electrial work and you are not grounded. I use it with the automatic ladder leveler, and quick click stabilizer. Both of which I think are very good, and wouldn't use the ladder without.

The Werner D6220-2 20-Foot Extension Ladder was exactly what I needed. The problem is Werner does not provide adequate shipping protection from their manufacturing facility. The first ladder arrived from ABT Freight Company. Everything looked alright until I removed the cardboard rail protectors, and found numerous dings and scratches to the fiberglass side rails. Additionally one of the feet was stuck in the vertical position and would not move horizontally. The driver loaded it back on the truck as I refused delivery. I notified Amazon CS and requested a replacement ladder. About a week later the replacement ladder arrived in worse condition than the original ladder. The driver loaded that one as I again refused delivery. I contacted Amazon CS and advised them of the situation. Amazon CS to their credit did not question my situation and refunded my CC charges within 48 hours. No argument no hassle of any kind.

The bottom line is if Werner shipped the ladders to their distributors enclosed in shrink wrap and a full cardboard container the ladders would be fine. I spoke with Werner CS to advise them of what I had encountered. I asked if any other customers were having issues with in transit damage and they said no, I refuse to believe that. Werner told me that their packaging for the ladders is acceptable. Well not on my dime it isn't. I understand it is a ladder, however give me the opportunity to beat it up on my own if I so choose.

If you buy from your local Home Depot or Lowe's be sure to give it a QC check before you leave the store.

Good Luck!!

Ladder is very well built and handles as would be expected. No problems with functionality or design. The main issue is the manner in which it was initally shipped. While not damaged to the degree that it isn't usable, it does have a couple of gouges and scrapes in the fiberglass rails. Not what one would expect when buying a brand new item. The Werner company should probably consider some means of protection by perhaps wrapping the ladder in cardboard or some other material. When buying new items, customers expect to find the product in immaculate shape not such that it appears as it's been used previously. Otherwise, what's the point in buying new? We'd simply save some money and buy used.

I safely moved up in the world with this purchase! It is an excellent quality extension ladder. Safely reaches to where I need to be. Better and safer by far than my old aluminum extension ladder that seemed to shift with every movement I made. I had an opportunity to try this ladder out when my neighbor offered me the use of his Werner extension ladder. I liked it enough to buy my own. I have since purchased the Heavy Duty Ladder Dolly and the Grippster Ladder Taxi as a backsaving accessories. Now I can easily lift and roll the ladder to where I need it without straining my back. I also use the Werner Extension Ladder Covers and the Werner QuickClick Stabilizer. Werner ladders are sturdy and well worth the price! ~ The Boss
