5.0 out of 5 stars Safe and secure
Finally, a ladder that can make a 56 year old woman feel safe - and sane - while perched up in my 25 year old apple trees. The tripod design makes it easier to get up close to the trunk and in the center of the tree. The wide front legs make it stable on uneven ground. It is fantastic for pruning and picking fruit, when you've also got heavy equipment and loads to deal...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good, but not as advertized
While this is a good ladder (light, stable, easy to move), the description is incorrect. The highest standing step on this ladder is 7 feet 8 inches above the ground. While this is only 4 inches shorter than what is said in the description and it is too bulky to return, I needed to put cinder blocks under the legs to make up the difference. Make sure you get the correct...

Finally, a ladder that can make a 56 year old woman feel safe - and sane - while perched up in my 25 year old apple trees. The tripod design makes it easier to get up close to the trunk and in the center of the tree. The wide front legs make it stable on uneven ground. It is fantastic for pruning and picking fruit, when you've also got heavy equipment and loads to deal with. I expect to be able to keep my trees well pruned and well picked for years to come. Yes, it is heavy, but that is what makes it stable, and I can carry it myself.

4.0 out of 5 stars very stable, September 14, 2004
This review is from: Werner FTP6210 300-Pound Duty Rating Fiberglass Tripod Ladder, 10-Foot (Tools & Home Improvement)
This tripod step ladder is perfect for trimming trees and tall hedges. I only gave it 4 stars because it is a little awkward to carry because of its wide bottom.

5.0 out of 5 stars Anticipating pruning season, December 12, 2009

I was very pleased to finally get my tripod ladder. It should make all of my tree work much easier and safer. I debated whether to get the 6 foot ladder or 8 foot. I decided on 6 foot and I believe that that will be just what I need. (I am an older person and don't want to climb too high while attending to my fruit trees.) I was very pleased to see how well made the ladder appears to be with extra reinforcing with the front two legs. The weight is not excessive so I should manage carrying my ladder around without too much difficulty. I am a very happy customer at this point and after I have used the ladder in early spring I will update this review. I expect I will be able to say that the ladder works very well for me.

Ordered as a gift for my father and the delivery time was very fast. He loved the ladder and even tho the apples have all been picked off the trees he still had to set it up and see how it worked. He was very impressed with the quality but was also quite surprised by the weight of the ladder. A very stable ladder considering it only has 3 legs.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Ladder Ever, June 14, 2008

Once you buy one of these you will never buy a four legged ladder again. These bad boys are stable and never wobbly...ever. They are a bit pricey but they are worth ten times the asking price. They can get into places where others only dream. If you ever need to get close to a house and there are bushes in the way, this thing is ideal and I mean ideal for that. The single leg just goes right in without any damage to the bushes and gets you close. They do have one minor problem. You must be careful when leaning over the front as the ladder can all of a sudden get tippy. It happens all at once but only when you are really pushing it. This problem is minor. Get one and you will be happy. I have a 6' and 8' model and love them both. If I were to get only one I would get the 8 footer.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Good Ladder, January 15, 2006

I would have given it 5 stars if it weren't so awkward to carry. Storage wise it takes a lot of space because it has such a wide base (needed for stability). Other than that the ladder is extremely stable and well made.

Edit 8/1/2010: Now that I've owned it for close to 4 years, I upped my rating from 3 to 4 stars. It's still a little awkward to carry, but I've gotten used it. All in all, I'm very happy. Great for trimming trees and cleaning out my gutters without the fear of tip over.

4.0 out of 5 stars 8 foot orchard ladder, June 17, 2008

The ladder is great and sturdy, but heavy then I expected. I'm happy with it, and I had no problems with delivery. It arrived by the estimated delivery date. It did not, however, arrive in a box (the shipping label was stuck to the ladder). I almost did not order this ladder because I was very worried about the delivery problems other reviewers experienced.
