Book Description

July 29, 2003
From comic book writer-historian Mark Evanier comes another collection of his acclaimed POV (Point of View) columns (as well as several never-before-published) on the subjects of comic book history, comic book creation and comic book appreciation! Included in this volume are his definitive history of the Fox and Crow comic book, tributes to artists Bob Kane and Gil Kane, Mark's diatribe on comic book numbering, and many more, capped off by an essay on comics' greatest villain, Dr. Fredric Wertham! This collection is profusely illustrated by award-winning Mad cartoonist (and Mark's collaborator of 20 years on Groo The Wanderer), Sergio Aragones, including a new cover!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another keeper!, February 5, 2007

This review is from: Wertham Was Right!: Another Collection Of POV Columns (Paperback)
You know, I get a lot of books. Comic books, books on comics, and even some without pictures (stupid words!) tons and tons of books (according to my wife). Most I read, some make it to the self, and even more end up in the pile going to the charity shop. Mark's books end up in the self right next to my desk.

The case next to my desk is where I put the books that I intend (and often do) read again and again. I'll often pick up one of Mark's collections, meaning to just re-read one chapter, and end up reading three or four. Funny, insightful, informative (is there anyone Mark doesn't know? I bet 'Six Degrees of Mark' would be a heckva game!) and sometimes sad, these books are keepers. Buy two and share!
