5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read for Wesley Lovers, November 7, 2008
This review is from: The John Wesley Reader On Christian Perfection. (The Jhn Wesley Christian Perfection Library) (Paperback)
The major strength of this book is that Wesley's writings are placed in their chronological order so that the reader can discern patterns of development in Wesley's views covering his entire ministerial career. The book begins with excerpts from Wesley's first two sermons and ends with his last will and testimony in 1791. All of Wesley's writings are drawn from: sermons, journal, writings, letters, commentary notes.

The introductions are brief and cover historical context, major motifs and themes, and alert the reader to how each writing fits into the overall development of Wesley's perfection theology. But since the introductions are brief the reader is left to reflect and examine the significance of each writing within Wesley's overall theology.
