About Treadmills
Walking is still considered one of the most beneficial cardiovascular exercises for people of all ages, body types, and fitness levels. As a fundamental form of aerobic training, walking has numerous physical benefits for the heart, lungs, and circulatory system, while also increasing muscle tone and burning fat calories. Treadmills provide a convenient way to regularly exercise in all weather conditions in the comfort and safety of your own home.

From beginners just starting an exercise regimen to advanced athletes looking to maintain their fitness level, anyone interested in getting and staying in shape can benefit greatly from regular use of a treadmill. Treadmills allow you to determine the pace, distance, and complexity of the workout based on your needs, all while watching television, talking on the telephone, or reading a magazine. Much easier on sensitive joints like the knees and hips, treadmill walking and running surfaces are typically long, padded platforms that allow ample room for a long stride and comfortable, low-impact walk or jog without the harsh contact of a concrete surface.

While many different types, styles, and price ranges of treadmills exist, many of them offer unique features like a fold-up design for easy storage, an electronic display monitor showing speed, distance, workout time, incline level, and burned calories, and EKG grip pulses to monitor the heart rate while exercising. Regardless of the simple to complex features you may choose, treadmills offer an array of aerobic exercise opportunities that will provide long-lasting beneficial cardiovascular results without a commute to the gym or a jog in the rain.

It's a good buy if you know what your getting into, as this machine wears you out harder than an automatic one.

I've been using this tread mill for a little over a year now and have put over 650 miles on it. No problems with the machine. It really gives you a good work out. The belt still looks like new. I bought it to help control my diabetes and it works great for this. The control center opperates on 2 AAA batteries, which I have not replaced since owning it. I highly recommend it. I've owned an electric treadmill that cost me over $400. I didn't like it nearly as well as this one, and I think I sold it for about $100. With this one, if you decide not to use it (as many people do), you haven't lost much money if any. Hope this is useful.

I just purchased this tread mill and have only used it once. My initial impression is that it is well made, fairly easy to assemble and gives you a good workout. I owned a Weslo manual tread mill previously and I also found that one to be well made and the belt moved very smoothly. My prior unit had a single very good sized fly wheel that kept the belt moving smoothly. This new unit has two flywheels each of which are smaller than my previous one but the effect is essentially the same - a fairly smooth walk without the severely jerky action of tread mills without this feature. This flywheel feature was one of the most important things I looked for.
This unit is the replacement unit for the previous model (Cardiostride 2.0) that, according to the attendant at Weslo Inc., is a single flywheel unit.
Additionally, the belt quality seems adequate. The last one wore out but I never lubed it. I ordered Weslo's lube kit to help keep the belt in good shape. Prior experience tells me that these belts are not cheap.
The hand grips are comfortable and well placed. The base unit seems very sturdy to me (my wt. 160 lbs) but will look out for the "lack of alignment" and "creaking" with additional use as reported above. The belt moves with a reasonable amount of effort but the belt has no resistance controls. Tougher work outs are created by increasing the incline of the belt and this, by the way, is no easy adjustment. The base is difficult to hold steady to line up the pins. This, so far, is the worst feature of this unit. All in all, I am very pleased with what I see so far. I just purchased this unit (9/22/10) from Weslo for $100 with free shipping, and the lube kit was also on sale for around $13.00. I may write more once I get a few miles "under my belt.

I got this Treadmill because of the price. My Weight 246. Live in Florida
Once I got everything together it worked great!! After about three weeks this treadmill started to creak.
Really BAD!!

What I found: the board under the belt had expanded and evertime I steped a very loud creak.

What I did: I removed the stick on trim creaking side (Mine right side) I used a skill saw to trim the board so it would not rub on the side frame.

Now, no creaks, works great, Love this treadmill..

I love this treadmill. I was really torn whether to go with an electric or manual. I am a 57 year old woman with a lot of back issues but htis treadmill works wonderful for me. It is compact, durable, an so easy to use. I use this 5 days a week, so if anyone is not sure whether to go manual I promise you will be extremely satisfied with this product.

I've only had the CardioStride Plus for about a week, but it is reasonably well made and gives you a really good workout. I'm trying to loose a few pounds, so I like to briskly walk for 1.5 miles in the morning and then while watching a movies. I'm using this treadmill to test my diligence to exercise on a treadmill. So far it has surpassed my expectation and maybe I'll keep this one for longer than expected. It definitely works you out more than a motorized treadmill since you are doing all the work.

Pros: Inexpensive, compact/light, simple, great workout for walking, easy set-up.

Cons: The bed creaks a bit while walking, so I have to turn up audio system pretty loud. The belt takes some adjusting to get and keep it centered and I find that when I move the treadmill, the belt often has to be re-centered. This is probably due to the very simple centering system and the fact that minor level changes in the floor will impact belt centering. You also need to keep your hands on the handles which will make reading somewhat difficult.

We bought this machine to use when we were not able to walk outdoors. It was easy to assemble and so far, we have quite a few miles on it with no problems at all.
We did find it harder than outdoor walking, so we leveled the incline using several books under the rear deck. So far, we love it!

This machine is great for the price. Solid and sturdy- all metal construction except for the plastic protective hood and controller. The belt moves smoothly and nearly effortlessly. The only downside with a manual treadmill is that for running, you need to hold onto the handlebar. But this is a small downside when compared with the higher cost and power usage of the electric treadmills.

I was concerned about the belt being too short at 41" long (I'm 6' tall and have long legs) but I've found it's just long enough to run comfortably. For the price, this treadmill can't be beat.
