I've had a lot of different brands and types of coffee makers, but this is a real gem! I love smelling the coffee waft throughout the house as it's perking, and it's easy to use and clean. It takes a little effort to get the right amount of coffee for brewing, but then again, my husband really likes his coffee strong. I love that the percolator brews incredibly HOT coffee! And the added bonus is that it's easy to take along when we go traveling. No filters needed, cleans up in a snap, and nothing to break!

Best coffee maker I have ever owned. I consider myself a coffee lover!!!! I have photograph of my this coffeepot on my Facebook with the caption "Morning Miracle Maker". The aroma fills the house and the coffee stays fresher longer. You can use less coffee than you would in other coffee makers and still get fabulous taste.

Great product! Has a floating measure on the outside so can make a smaller amount easy. Makes a good cup of coffee.

IT IS A GREAT PERCOLATOR. NICE LOOKING AND MADE WELL. IT MAKES A VERY GOOD CUP OF COFFEE. SO FAR, SO GOOD.
UPDATE, NOVEMEBER 15,2011 PERCOLATOR STOPPED WORKING. IT HEATS-UP THE WATER, BUT DOES NOT CIRCULATE THE WATER THROUGH THE COFFEE. I USED IT APPROXIMATELY 5 TIMES SINCE RECEIVING IT ON OCTOBER 24, 2011. OBVIOUSLY, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.

I have never owned a drip coffee maker because I like my coffee strong and -- more importantly HOT. This percolator is wonderful. Solid, easy to use with both water and coffee measurements built in. The only problems are that the cord is very short and the lid is hard to put on and take off.

My Husband bought this percolator for me 8/01/2011 at K-Mart. The first month the percolator died with circulator problems, the next month in Sept we returned it to K-Mart because the percolator shorted; in October we took the pot back due to circulator issues and it did make it this time 2 months, the day is Dec 3rd and when washing the cover last night, the top cheap plastic piece broke. I am really fed up with both the Percolator and K-Mart. I just called and they said it was past 90 days because we had no receipt, girl didn't give my husband one and we didn't take out an extended warranty, so I guess you could say I paid $39.99 for one month of service 3-4 times and K-Mart stuck their nose up at me and told me to go to the manufacturer for help. I was put on hold for a long time, ignored and I am normally so easy to get along with, but I have no patience anymore with this percolator or the lousy service I got at K-Mart. Save yourself a hassle, do not buy this percolator. It could have just been a bad batch of them that came in at K-Mart, but regardless, why did I keep having problems. It was this 54159 pot and I guess I should have know better, a cheap plastic clear top, but like another buyer, I liked to see the coffee perk. Why not a glass top anymore? They want us to keep buying the whole percolator ;-? I'm so frustrated at this point and instant is not my cup of coffee. Please save yourself the frustration and in the meantime, I'm going to likely throw the junky percolator out, shame if you had to as well. I'm sure you would think of me and kick yourself ;-?

I'm really happy with this purchase. What a treat to have REALLY HOT coffee for a change. I also like to see the coffee perking inside the glass top on the lid. Just like old times when I had a Corning electric percolator in the early 70's. Some people may not like dealing with the grounds and washing the basket after each use, but I don't mind at all. Having good, hot coffee makes up for that. The paperwork said it's best to use a larger grind but I'm using a very fine grind Gevalia coffee with no problem at all. (I make 6 cups) Excellent product.

I replaced my drip coffee maker this percolator and what a difference! The coffee tastes so much better! I can leave the percolator on all morning and the coffee tastes good even a couple hours later. I'm not sure but after it's done perking, it seems to go on a lower heat setting which I think keeps it tasting good for a long time. I purposely chose one that had a glass top because I like seeing the coffee perk for whatever reason.

There is a glass column along the pot with marks for x number cups of coffee which makes it real easy to add the right amount of water. It cleans up easily, too. I'm so glad I bought this and would highly recommend it to anyone!!!

I bought the West Bend percolator for my mom. She absolutely loves it! Coffee brews relatively fast and stays piping hot. We both love the stylish look of the percolator and love to watch the bubbling action of the coffee percolating through the clear knob on top of the lid.

First, and most importantly, the coffee from the West Bend 54159 Percolator tastes fabulous. It tastes clean, rich, and consistent. I've yet to find another regular home coffee maker that makes coffee this good. That said, the sounds it makes during the percolating process are akin to the space shuttle taking off. Also, the stainless steel exterior does get more than just a little warm. Overall, though, this is an excellent product for the price.
