This West bend Coffeemaker is tricky to close. I called the company contact for help, but they were of no help. I have to keep putting the basket in and taking it out until it allows me to close the top. I am dissapointed with this coffeemaker. D J

The coffee maker works without the lid completely closed...but its on/off switch is temperamental. Sometimes it won't switch on --and sometimes it won't switch off. Each time the appliance did work properly 20-30 minutes later, but I would prefer a toggle switch that worked every time I pressed it.
