Product Description

Amazon.com Review

Here's a toaster than puts power breakfasts within any family's reach. Bread, bagels, waffles, English muffins--anything up to about 1-1/4-inch thick that benefits from toasting goes into the toaster's 10-inch-long slot two at a time and slides automatically onto a tray ready to serve. Because of its versatility, West Bend calls this The Ultimate Toaster. It could be called The Convenient Toaster, as well. Turn a knob to select six toaster settings, from light to dark. To toast bagels on one side only, push a button. Change your mind? Push the cancel button, and the toaster halts immediately. The hard, white plastic exterior wipes clean with a damp, soapy cloth. And crumbs land on the tray, where they can be mopped up. If you need to free counter space, the cord stores underneath. --Fred Brack

1.0 out of 5 stars NOT the Ultimate Slide Through Toaster, August 29, 2001

When I purchased this toaster, after considerable research, in Spetember of 2000, I thought it was the greatest invention since sliced bread. I thought a non-pop-up toaster plus the bagel feature would assure me just the results I wanted. And it did, for 6 months. In March of 2001, the toaster would not slide the product through; I had to force the button up to ejcect the toast and stop the toasting process. We immediately contacted West Bend but were told the warranty had run out and they were sorry but couldn't do anything. Now, in August, the toast not only will not slide through but I have to physically unplug the toaster for it to stop heating. Needless to say, this product is going into the garbage today before it burns our house down. If I could give it less than 1 star, I would

5.0 out of 5 stars Great toaster!, June 28, 2000

After two "conventional" toasters by other manufacturers, trials with unevenly-toasted or barely-toasted bread, stuck bagels, burnt bagel toppings, and limited life spans, we gave this toaster a chance. One-click this toaster -- it's the one to get for the money. We now have evenly toasted bread just at 50% power and bagels that don't have their toppings singed. Plus, the tray that items drop onto when toasting is done is excellent - no tongs necessary to extract stuck items. Get this one.

1.0 out of 5 stars Toasts fine until..., March 15, 2002

This toaster was perfect for the space I had. Too bad it didn't keep working. First the toast started to brown unevenly, then the slide thru feature failed. There is NO way to get it out but to dig it out - or turn it upside down. I only had it for about 4 months before we had to invest in a different toaster.
