West of Home Should Sail into Your Home,
By "mslascots" (Bay Area, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: West of Home (Audio CD)
"West of Home" was one of the first Browne Sisters CDs I ever bought. I adore it and listen to it at least once a week if not more. The song "Day of the Clipper" is a great sailing song but also a great mother daughter song containing the line "So all ya lovin' mothers keep your eyes upon your daughters." The CD also contains as do all Browne Sisters CDs a few songs in Gaelic but don't be frightened. You don't have to understand the lyrincs to understand the great rhythms of the music. This is a very upbeat CD and I love it.

The Browne Sisters,
By Jennifer Mask (Brea, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: West of Home (Audio CD)
I have all the Browne Sisters' CDs and this one is my favorite. This is the next best thing to getting to see them perform live. They are not typical folk singers - they are actually good! My two favorite tracks are "Couldn't Have Come at a Better Time" and "Back Home in Derry". This is a great CD!

I can't say enough about this group! The harmonies and arrangments are so unique. I love them. I think if you like celtic music you will be impressed.
