I expected more detail of the actual trail - it is a large map, mostly of the surrounding areas, so somewhat disappointed.West Coast Trail Map by ITMB (Travel Reference Map)

Our party was planning a hike of the WCT. Parks Canada would not send an advance copy of the map that they provide, insisting that it would not be provided prior to attending their pre-hike briefing. We wanted to be better prepared for the trip so one member of our party purchased this map.

All of the basic information that one would expect of a map was their. The print quality was excellent, as was the (waterproof)substrate that it was printed on.

This map lacked some of the information provided on the Parks Canada map such as tides levels as which the shore could be hiked, location of headwalls and surge channels, etc. It did, however, cover much of the terrain further removed from the shore. The primary disappointment with this map was that it did not cover enough additional area to display the roads to be driven during the car shuttle. Adding an inset showing these roads would be a big improvement.

All in all, this map was a valuable resource for planning the trip.

Excellent. Has most of the information one requires to trek this trail.
