I have used these gloves for years and have been completely satisfied with them. They fit perfectly and are the most comfortable work gloves I've ever had. These gloves have intelligent design with breathable material, reinforced stress points and a terry brow wipe. The wrist has elastic with a velcro closure for perfect fit. They are strong and durable while allowing a level of flexibility other work gloves do not offer. I will never buy a different brand again.

I am so impressed by these gloves that I recently gave my sister a pair since she uses work gloves for the many community beautification projects she volunteers for. She loves these gloves also, and told me they are the best, most comfortable work gloves she's ever had.

So there you go, two high recommendations for these gloves in one review.

As an added bonus, these gloves are environmentally friendly. As the packaging states: "Two 8 ounce plastic water bottles have been removed from the landfill to make this pair of gloves."

I actually spent a lot of time looking at all the options before selecting this glove. I have large hands for a woman, but the ladies' large fit just perfect. They are very comfortable-- more comfortable than the sports gloves I had been using. Rose thorns don't poke through and the sweat wiping thumb is a nice detail. They are a little warm for hot Georgia summers, but what glove wouldn't be?

I will use them for gardening, kayaking, and moving heavy objects.

No other brand of heavy-duty work gloves for women measures up to West County -- and I've tried them all. With a small farm to maintain, I need gloves that stand up to heavy chores, like clearing brush, hauling wood, and pruning trees and shrubs. I read one review that downgraded these gloves for too much padding in the fingers to pick up small weeds -- that is true. But if it's light to moderate gardening you're doing, you may not need as sturdy a work glove. Anyone who does serious rose pruning will appreciate what these gloves offer -- protection for your hands for months on end, even from rose thorns. Also, I have small hands, and the extra-small size offered by West County fits perfectly . . . FINALLY, a glove for ladies that works as hard as a man's glove.

West County makes excellent gloves, they fit well and are well made. I do prefer the classic gloves however because the have an extra 2 inches of fabric up the wrist.

First of all, here's what these gloves are not for: they aren't for warmth. I've been able to wear mine at the height of summer without my hands overheating, but when I used them to pull bean vines off a trellis in autumn temperatures, my hands got pretty cold. They are also not for extremely fine work. I couldn't thin carrots with them on. That being said, I love them. They hold up well. I put them through a tough season of gardening, washed them up, and they are ready for another year. They also fit me, something that almost never happens with women's gloves. I have a broad, thick palm. Women's gloves rarely fit, and even men's gloves sometimes split at the base of the thumb. A large in these gloves fits perfectly, and the stretch fabric means they don't bind when I spread my fingers. By the way that fabric will snag and tear if used roughly enough. I caught mine on some chicken wire and tore a small hole in the back of one of the fingers. All season long, though, the hole didn't get any bigger. I continue to use them and will do so until something else wears out, which it shows no signs of doing yet.

The best gloves I have ever owned! I live in the USVI and have a lot of cacti in my yard. The hardest quality to find are gloves that can handle the sharp needles on the plants. These gloves out performed any I have ever had.

So happy I ordered these gloves. I have gardened for over 40 years and never had a problem with gardening gloves until the last several years. Now most gloves bought in hardware stores and garden centers are made of awful synthetics that don't breath or fit and even make hands smell bad! Not these!! They fit great, they breath so well even in hot weather and they are extremely comfortable. Plus I really liked the sweat pad in the perfect location. Glad I bought two pair.

I bought these for gardening...specifically down-in-the-dirt-on-your-hands-and-knees-weeding. I bought them in small, but they still seem a bit large for my hands. Also, the extra fabric on the fingertips makes it really hard to "feel the weed" when you're pulling them. Not bad, and they are of good quality. Just wish I had more feeling in my fingertips when I'm using them.
